Down on the Docks: Smugglers


Undead approach the docks...


The Possessed attacks the Witch Hunters.


A fight on the docks.


Over the course of the evening we fought maybe six battles. Two Down at the Docks (both won by Chris). The Witch Hunters discover Drenok Johansen crucified outside the city. He is rescued by the Witch Hunters and promises to reward them with service.
One The Heist... Jim L loses a vampire to Al Bobo of the Ghutani. The Undead disband.
Two The Yeggmen. Both lost by Cathayans, once as the attacker and once as defender. Undead won one. The Undead buy a cheap Arabian Steed,which promptly collapses and dies... Ghutani won the other. Al Bobo becomes a hero.
One Last Orders. Tomb Guardians versus Possessed... Possessed win.

Week Two reports

With just the right amount of flavorful and playable scenery your group pulled off what looks like a very fun evening, with the possible exception for Jim L. Six games in one evening is impressive considering one solo game takes me about the same amount of time, being the tortoise in the race and all. Keep having fun guys, and maybe gang up on Chris when you get the chance before the crucified guy gives them “The Favor” which in my limited experience usually results in miracles.

HOORAY! More Arabian Tales...OH BABY! AND LOOKIN' GOOD...WONDERFUL minis & scenery, not necessarily in that order.

Week Two games
Pressgang!
An angry drunk takes a ghoul and a dreg down.  He gets the last ghoul before being overwhelmed by the Possessed.


The mean Possessed eliminates the necromancer


A drunk is pressed!


Dreg Manfred tries to pressgang a drunk by himself.


Dreg Manfred fails!


At the end of the game Dreg Manfred died of his wounds.  Killed by a drunk!  In desperation the necromancer uses the Paw to re-animate the dead vampire from game one.  Something was wrong with the invocation though, as a minor Djinn possessed the body of the vampire instead...

The Undead captured the most drunks, but fled with numerous heroes dead or wounded.

Last Orders
A battle of teetotalers

Hordes of Witch Hunters occupy the attic of the Blow Hole.  Only Mir Sher and a lowly penitent of the One (Ghutani flagellant) stand in their way.  Drenok Johansen begins his service to the Witch Hunters by attacking Mir Sher.


On the second level the Ghutani swamp the outnumbered Witch Hunters

The Ghutani lost both of their original flagellants. The Possessed foolishly thought that the Ghutani would fight on after Al Bobo was stunned and left the 'find' to reinforce their killers. Ah well.

Its been a dry year...or seas of sand...

The Marienburgers fled first. Then the Tomb Guardians failed a rout test just before they could charge for the first time...

The Cathayans gain much cargo (since the other warbands got none!)

YET MORE GREAT LOOKING GAMES! The is something about Araby I find tremendously attractive. GREAT STUFF!  

With such great pics it only takes a few captions to tell the story. Great play!

A giant crab crawls from the bay and attacks the smugglers!  Oh no! There goes Tokyo!

The Pirates eventually defeated the crab, but were broken by the vicious assault.  The Possessed fell before the Cathayans' crossbows.

YET ANOTHER GOOD LOOKING GAME...LOVE that Crab!  

Once again great pics and captions, I like the random happenings of the watch, but I have to say i’m a fan of the giant crab. How did it come into being, and furthermore, what about a hint to its stats? In other words I love the fluff, now I’m interested in the crunch. The pincer could/should have it’s own backstory.

The Crab is an Itsy Bitsy Spider type encounter from the Sartosa setting.  His stats come from the old General's compendium I think.

I don't have them with me. I think his stats flip S and T versus the Spider from the Random Happenings. His claw attacks give +1 to injury roll.

Protect the Prince
The foreign devils attempt to sneak a Prince through the Merchant's Quarter.

The Marienburgers hide behind buildings.


The Ghutani rush into the buildings to avoid the heavy crowds (and a Tilean Marksman).


The Marienburgers flee, leaving their Prince to the Ghutani's mercy. Some bad things happen to Marienburger heroes. Deep Wounds and such.

A Skirmish in the Thieves Quarter
The Ghutani versus the Possessed

A cute little monkey is chopped to pieces by cruel cultists. It stole a sword from the mutant...


The Ghutani try to fort up, but the Possessed are too fast.


The second wave of mutants, Possessed and dark souls crash into the wall of Al Bobo.


The Possessed are going to rout. Al Bobo survives.


Chad's new Possessed was cut down by Al Bobo and killed by the Holy Man (need to name him). A great victory for the Faithful.

A victorious Witch Hunter clears the main room.


The Witch Hunters somehow win. Perhaps because the warbands were taking rout tests (which I am not sure is necessary in the scenario). Either way the Cathayans still had 9 standing to 4 or so Witch Hunters. No one is reported killed.

The next battles will take place in the Great Desert on the way to the Oasis of One Thousand and One Camels...

Week 4--The Oasis of a Thousand and One Camels

The first stage of the journey to Khemri was undertaken three weeks ago.  My computer problems have conspired with overtime to make little time for keeping the campaign diary.  Many images exist of desperate battles though...

The Undead will capture the oasis.  No caravans will trade with them though.
The Witch Hunters somehow win back to Al-Haikk.

A pivotal skirmish on the flank.  The Rider is gone, but his comrades attack the Faithful.


Despite the defeat of the Rider, the Ghutani flee from the counterattack.  Al Bobo II is killed.

Al Bobo was killed fighting the Cathayans in a caravan ambush.  (Five of the attackers were OoA including three heroes, but only Al Bobo fell on the side of the Faithful...)  The Faithful made much gold from the victory, but were sad nonetheless.  His successor Al Bobo II was killed in the next fight (a defeat).

Lenny the Lazar II was killed by Marienburgers.  The Undead were victorious, but naturally saddened by the death of Lenny.

The saga will continue... We are up to week seven or eight now.

WELCOME BACK, LENNY! You just can't keep a good Lazar down...most of the time. GREAT STUFF ONCE MORE!  

We'll be looking for Lenny III.  

The length of time your group has been playing tells me how much fun they must be having. I enjoy following their exploits. I especially like the detailed scenery on the indoor battles and the fact that your group never seems to run out of scenery pieces.

Undead and Possessed in the Thieves Quarter

Its been awhile since these games happened, so time has swallowed the details.  Enjoy the pics.

The Possessed suffered from convincing the Undead to fight on. The Possessed go from having broken the Undead for only two casualties of their own to fleeing with three or four heroes out of action the next chance they get. A Brethren is reported killed.

None of the undead stay dead.

Last Orders in the Merchant's Quarter

Al Bobo holds the stair.  Al Bobo III had a great fight, he eliminated all of his opponents over the night.


The Witch Hunters hire an ogre...


There are only three Marienburgers on the main floor.


The Marienburgers fled first.  A Youngblood died.

The Ghutani got punished by lucky Witch Hunters, they gave up shortly after the Mary Anns.  A veteran Flagellant died from a fall.

The Witch Hunters had three or four heroes out of action in addition to most of their henchmen, but they hung on.  No one is reported killed although a hero rolls a Deep Wound for his 'best injury'.

A Port
The Possessed won a Fancy Meetin' YOU 'ere! in the Thieves Quarter.  The game didn't last long as the Witch Hunter's didn't fancy their chances, so just photos of the table after...






The Witch Hunters may have lost one of their sacrificial henchmen, still they get rich and hire lots of hired swords, including the aforementioned ogre...

A Treasure Hunt

The Undead see a treasure before them (someone likes to use treasure chests for the equivalent of wyrdstone, which causes the inevitable confusion when the treasure IS a treasure chest, but oh well what ya gonna do?)

The Undead easily defeated the Ghutani by grabbing the treasure and running off into the darkness. The Undead lose six warriors to the guardians. Lenny III is killed. The Undead gain riches to replace the fallen.

No Ghutani were injured in the fight since they couldn't get anywhere near the enemy.
