Blood Angels Army - WiP

Here's my vehicles heavly washed down. Soon I'll start blending up with blood red.

Some progress on the rhino.. still lot of work to do, haven't finished all the red blends, but I'm getting close to it.. and after that.. I'll paint the lenses, weathering and battle damage on the hull...
Also I kind of screwed up one of the decals.. so I guess I'll be fixing that as well...

It's coming along quite nicely; the red REALLY looks good. Keep on keeping on!

VERY WELL DONE! You managed to give it a battle worn look without being grungy.
Are you going to add some inscription to the front scroll?

Yes indeed, but I don't know what to write yet.. x_X... I dunno I want it to be somewhat original.. see everyone writes stuff like "blood", "dante", "mephiston" or stuff along those lines..

So i dunno... I might use names from the WH40k Blood Angel Novels... or even just something like "Pirexian" which has been my nickname since... forever.. :p
Any ideas or suggestions are totally welcome!

My two Sang. Priests done... a bit sloppy I must admit.. painting whites is though, I layered some greys and whites, and a black wash along with a sepia wash, then more white layers (maybe I over did the layering..) but good enough for the tabletop.. seen from above they really stand out though, those whites really make them easy to notice.

You're making good progress! While painting white is difficult (especially adding depth to a clean white) I think you did a good job. The rhino is nice and grimy. It's good to see someone else who is fond of deep shading red - I've painted most of my SIsters of Battle vehicles in i similar manner.

The Fly Boys turned out cool...nice job on the reds & whites. WELL DONE!

A bit of a mess on the details.. I know.. but I'm happy with the way the Force Sword came out with the atempt of source lightning on the armour and stuff.

The new Guy & Tank look TERRIFIC! The magnets are a clever way of making the most of a fairly pricy mode. VERY WELL DONE!l

Here's a little work in progress of the Sanguinary Guard... I'm prety much done with the golds.. (I Might add some pin point purple washes here and there for an extra shade) But I'm done with the armor, I'm ready to paint details like weapons, red bits on the armor, gems, wings, cloth, bases, etc...



I used some random deep gold paint.. then I applied a wash of devlan mud, after that I used a custom made purple/brown wash for stronger shades... then prety much was dry brush with lighter shades of gold from Tamiya.

PRETTY SNAZZY LOOKING! The gold turned out GREAT & the wings should paint up well...that's a nice touch to the jump packs. Keep 'em coming!

Shiny! The opponent will have to bring sunglasses, so do remember to hide some troops in the darker areas of the battlefield...

A few details left to paint, but almost done here.. and of course the banner...

Nice! They look as hardhitting as they are. Your tempo-quality combination is impressing. What's next in line?

well I yet need to finish that damn chapter banner.. to be honest it's quite menacing to me.. it NEEDS to look good and I still don't know which colours to use or anything.. I'm thinking maybe some ochres/browns.. and some red.. or purple and reds... or white/bone 'ish colors.. heck I don't know.. Any suggestions or inspiration/reference are very welcome!

After these guys are done.. I think I keep on going with the Death Company (those are 10 models.. lot's of work..) But I also have some assembly to do.. I have a Vindicator and a Storm raven on stock in the box right now.. so we'll see... I just wanna finish with all the models that are already primed and I had for a while, before starting with the "new babies"...

If you want it to stand out, I would go with purple,red and white. High contrasts there, making it very visible. What kind of motif are you planning to paint on it? I guess that would give a clue to good contrasting colors.

FINE PROGRESS! The swords turned out especially nicely. GOOD WORK!

I'd offer advice on the banner, but, done up in a black prime, makes it impossible to see the details. Best bet is to find a G.W. illustration & modify it to your own tastes.

Thanks for the advice! I might have done it a bit different to achive better contrast, maybe white wings on the angel.. but black wings kind of make more sense, sinde the guard itself has black wings/feathers.
