| Nice stuff! The Isle of Blood starter is tempting, though I already have the skaven warband, and shadow elves as well. But I might just introduce the gang to Warhammer fantasy. I play an old edition, been collecting army books on the cheap. Look forward to more of your pics! | |

| Why, hello! I've been on a tear lately, haven't I? Granted I'm nowhere near as prolific as some others, but I have my ways. Now, what I decided to do is something that I haven't done in awhile. An actual Work In Progress. Here's my Pinky Rat ogre at the base stage. I mean the really, really, really base stage. Actually, you could call it color blocking. See, this is the perfect thing I like about the miniatures painting. The first steps are messy, sloppy, and just about getting the paint on the model. Later comes finesse and technique. Right now, its bad splotchy, and not even table top quality. I love showing this step. It illustrates so much about model painting. You can have something that looks like crap and as it goes along, it looks better and better. I'm probably going to keep a better log of this miniature then I have in the past. Get a bit of a pic of each of the stages. Sit back and enjoy as it goes from crap to well, not crap. | |

| VERY COOL mini...the Big Rat Guys look much more impressive than the N0n-Rodent Ogre types. It seems all minis go through an ugly-as-sin stage of the sort that makes moi wonder why I'm doing this...fortunately this stage passes before the mini finds a new home in the trash or imbedded in the wall...hopefully. | |

| The Big Rat Guy turner out TERRIFIC...the armored arm looks particularly striking [no pun intended ]. VERY NICE WORK! Do you have plans for the base? | |

| No, I don't like doing bases. There's a couple reasons for this;
1. I suck at doing bases. I've tried a variety of methods and everything but the pre-molded ones don't work well for me. I have no clue why. 2. I like a black base, I think it highlights a model's function as a playing piece not a display piece. I like to do full bases for display pieces or dioramas, etc. Those are great for those to look at, but I am always nervous playing with something too good. I like to do table top quality. I don't embarrass myself, but I wouldn't join a golden deamon contest either. 3. People seem to forget that a quality base helps a model, mid to low quality bases detract. A plan black base is just a stand.
Tis my cross to bear. I know others disagree with me, but it is what it is. I even clean up a black base after regular painting to make it solid black. | |

| As long as you are happy with the mini, a plain base is okay...ultimately you only have to please yourself. | |
