| Just a taste of what's to come Bear Hunter Suddenly a black powder blast pierces the air, fired by a most unexpected hunter; a dangerously intelligent bear in an upright stance! The tallest terrain feature on the table contains the bear, placed by the encountering warband at the most advantageous vantage point. It will have the stats of a normal bear as found in the bestiary, only with a ballistic skill of 4. It is armed with a dagger, axe, and hunting rifle and has the skills trick shot, and hunter. It will shoot at the closest model it can see each turn, and will ignore knocked down/stunned models if a standing target is available. Any model ending its movement in the bear's terrain feature will spring a vicious bear trap on a roll of 1 suffering a strength 4 hit which ignores armor saves. Heroes unlucky enough to be taken out of action will treat any result of 35 or below on the serious injury chart as a leg wound. Surviving models will be unable to move in their next turn as they pry the jaws of the trap open. If the bear hunter is killed replace it with a loot counter. Any model ending its move touching the counter may pick it up, but may not use the items this game. If this model is taken out it will drop the equipment and another model may pick it up, and so on. The warband in control of the equipment at the end of the game may keep it.Inspired by a certain piece of artwork in the rulebook. Also i must ask those responsible for the splendid Boarder Town Burning supplement (we all know the culprits! ) for their gracious permission to crib their perilous phenomenon and bestiary rules and alter them to fit in with the classic Mordheim setting with events such as the above. I ask because i plan on publishing the result when finished for all to enjoy. In the mean time try this one out in your games (replace an existing event) and let me know | |

| Shouldn't it be called "Hunter Bear" though? Otherwise it suggests someone hunting a bear... not a bear that hunts. | |

| Slight change to this, the bear should not have a dagger and axe, but suffers no penalty for fighting without weapons! | |

| edit: Yikes! triple-post! Here are a couple of more work-in-progress random happenings... Thieving BanditsSuddenly, several shady characters jump from the shadows and leer at you with greedy eyesOne randomly determined hero in the encountering warband is beset upon by thugs. D6 bandits with the same stats as Mercenary Swordsmen, armed with swords and bucklers, start a number of inched equal to the victim's initiative away in a random direction. They will move towards their target as fast as possible and charge. In combat they will treat all out of action results on the victim as stunned instead, if a model cannot be stunned then out of action will still count as stunned! If/when the victim is stunned, the thieves will relieve him of all his weapons, equipment, and carried wyrdstone. Armor is too cumbersome to remove, but shields and helmets will be stolen. The thieves will then move as fast as possible towards the nearest board edge, if the last thief escapes, the items are lost. If the last remaining thief is taken out, the equipment is dropped as a token that can be picked up by any model and carried like a shard of wyrdstone. Once the equipment is recovered by it's owner it can be usedbut if the equipment is not recovered by the owner, the warband in possession of the token at the end of the game keeps it. Filthy Rich Pig A large hog, wearing the tattered remnants of what appear to be luxurious merchant's robes, jealously guards a treasure hoard.
One random terrain feature contains the hog and hoard, which should be represented with an appropriate token. The hog will not attack any model unless it is attacked or a model attempts to loot the hoard. If shot at it will automatically hide. It has the stats of a wild boar. If the hog is killed, the treasure may be looted by any model which spends a turn doing nothing but searching the building. Roll on the following chart to see what the hoard consists of: (table to be written)

| Cobblestone GolemOne unfortunate Warrior trips as the cobblestone he was walking upon moves beneath his feet. He has come across a cobblestone golem, a creature held together by weak magic but with a temper of an orc!Place a cobblestone golem with the following stats in base to base with a random member of the encountering players warband. The Golem will fight until death, and upon killing anyone in base to base contact, he will move towards the closest model on the board and attack it. This could even be another random happening model. M | WS | BS | S | T | W | I | A | Ld | 3 | 3 | - | 4 | 5 | 1 | 2 | 1 | - | Cobblestone GolemNo Fear - The Cobblestone Golem passes all psychology checks No Pain - The Cobblestone Golem treats all stunned results as knocked down. The Tricky Fish A confused warrior hears whispering coming from nearby rubble. Upon closer inspection he sees that it is a two-headed fish, far beyond decayed, whispering to him to return him to the river stir with promise of reward. One random member of the encountering players warband now holds the fish. It is treated like a shard of wyrdstone, being dropped if the model goes out of action. It then starts to ask for help again, and any other model that moves into base to base with it can pick it up. Whoever has the fish at the end of the game (the model keeps the fish if he routes) can roll on the random chart. 1 | The fish has tricked you! He does not return with anything! | 2 | The fish returns from the murky depths and belches out 2d6 gold coins before returning. | 3 | The Fish returns and belches out a lucky charm before returning. | 4 | The fish returns and belches out a rabbit’s foot before returning | 5 | The fish returns and belches out seaweed that he claims will heal anyone who chews them. These count as healing herbs. | 6 | The Fish returns, and drags himself back on shore with short stubby legs. He is grateful for your kindness and offers himself as a familiar if you have any warband member that casts spells! | | |

You should consider "bear" an adjective describing the hunter. In the same way a green army would be one with little experience while army green would be the color of green the army uses. Also the intended meaning in contrast to the normal meaning of bear hunter is supposed to be funny. BTW, if chicken soup is soup with chicken in it and beef stew has cow in it, then what is in Chinese noodle soup?

Border Town has its own table as does the Sartosa setting that I know of so I thought I'd ask.
