| While the the Mermaid Emporium appeared on the Gw "What's New Today" blog I've been working on the Hurricane Anchor (on and off...) for the last few weeks. I'm still not entirely happy with it - trying to make it solid and hard-wearing while also trying to get it to look dynamic and ethereal isn't easy! But here's the progress anyway: | |

| As with all your stuff WK, the tiny details are what breathe life into it.
The splintered plank, knots on the rope, barnacles on the boat really make it all fit together. Awesome work mate!

| Congrats on your mention (and photo!) in the "What's New Today" blog - it was cool to see something from our humble community!
The mermaid emporium turned out great, and I'm definitely looking forward to the hurricane anchor as well. It's hard to envision just what it'll look like all painted up, but if I might offer one little bit of advice it would be this - vary the radius of the debris from the central vortex swirly bit for different pieces of flotsam and jetsam - keep some closer while others could be a bit further out. I think that might give it a slightly more dynamic, swirling look.
I'm not sure how to best go about doing that, though, without using at least very thin pieces of wire to support the farther-out debris, so it may not be the best option. Anyways, just a thought.

| VERY COOL, WK! It reminds me of a water born version of the tornado from The Wizard of Oz...could be another sign of imminent senility. | |

| Myntokk has a great idea with having stuff not all being attacked to the center. maybe a rope flying out and use it to also support something else with wire? Also some water flying out may also give some diversity. I have to say the only problem i have with the boat one is that the cyclone seams too crowded so having stuff flying out may fix this... paint may as well so cant say. The mermaid is awsome and I may have to steal some of those ideas for my little girl who loves Mermaid's | |

| VERY NICE...that certainly is putting the skulls to good use. I like the Spiral Staircase; there's something about a winding stairway that adds to the sinister atmosphere of the piece. | |

| The foam side needs some skulls too. Maybe under the stairs.
Very inventive use of the fulcrums Saul. I'll join the chorus of what about the Huricane Anchor? Love to see some paint on that.

| See now if you went magnetic you could do both! Except the fishy should have some more fins and webbed feet. Like the fish headed monster. We use one of Reapers many Djinni/Genie/Effreet or whatever whenever one appears.

| This thread, is by far, one of the more entertaining ones in the whole world of wargaming, and I am a member of many wargaming forums. I play WWII, Zombie Apocalypse, Old West, Mordheim, Weird War Two, Pulp, Fantasy... and of all, this wins the price of the most original and cool project of them all. I love your manic building style, your fantastic and imaginative way of actually bring your crazy ideas to an actuall terrain/model piece without making them silly or ugly. Please, keep it up!
Your mermaid is fantastic, and one of my favourites. I must find some of those clear plastic containers and try something like this my self.

| These look amazing. I've only just got back into this stuff, is Storm of Magic worth looking at? (I'm collecting Daemons of Chaos ) Also, looking at your mermaid fulcrum has given me an interesting idea for a piece of Mordheim scenery. Basically an abandoned freak show with various malformed skeletons in jars...the "performers" were forgotten in the chaos. Hmmm...could lead on to some interesting scenario ideas too. The water spout looks alright to me but I do have a question...Is that red steering wheel from Buckaroo or pop-up pirate or some similar childs game? Keep it up, can't wait to see the finished fulcrums. | |
