| Very good idea! We made something like this years ago: an alien coming out of a corpse chest showed in an aquarium. I like that! | |

| Awesome idea! It's especially well executed, as usual!
Are you going to "dirty up" the fish tank as well? Ie. maybe some greenish algae stains or something?
Really looking forward to see the finished piece!

| Thanks very much for all the kind words everyone!
I did some small test mixes with Gedeo Crystal Clear resin last night - one with Thrakka Green wash added - and they look good so far. They'll take 24 hours to cure and the mermaid isn't completely finished yet but I hope to be all ready to pour the resin in the next few days!
@Pfreck - not sure I'll add any "gunk" inside - I want the mermaid to be really visible.

| do mermaids REALLY need loincloths? very cool looking stuff. one thing to be careful about though. depending on what resin you use, it could become warm during the crosslinking (hardening) process. some resins will become so warm that they destroy themselves in the middle if you try to cast something that is too big (because the heat cant travel out fast enough). if you noticed the mixing pot becoming hot when it hardened, it might be an idea to try and put the whole thing in a bucket of water while its curing, to cool it. But hopefully your resin wont have such problems. only some do | |

| Very nice seamonst.... i mean, seamodell!
Really like the more "realistic" approach in giving her a silvery "tail" instead of the green we can see in Disney movies..

| VERY NICELY DONE! I was wondering how you'd paint up the Fish Babe; AND she turned out GREAT...good color choices. Loin clothes are the chic fashion accessory with the Merwenches this season. | |
