| This is a very cool terrain piece. Reminds me of the latest Pirates of the Carribean film. Good work! | |

| Very cool! Great idea! But in my opinion container would be much cooler if it is spherical shape not rectengular... | |

| Thank you so very much for all the comments shipmates! Two more Piratey Arcane Fulcrums are on the drawing-board.... - Vagabond wrote:

Not sure a spherical one would have worked... wouldn't it just look a bit like a goldfish bowl... I was actually looking for a cylindrical container but couldn't find one. The oblong one was all I could get.

| Don't know... Spherical one is more appropriate for fantasy (orbs, spheres...) while rectengular one is more for modern themes... I'm not sure if I was clear with previous sentence but I hope you got the picture... : ) | |

| The water effect looks absolutely amazing. It's way better to have all that dirt inside the aquarium than just having it completely sterile looking. Would you happen to have any tips for creating miniature water? Since I'm most lkely building some terrain with some puddles and wells in them. I'm anxious to see the other fulcrums | |

Ha! That's a very happy accident indeed since the effect looks amazing. I've been eyeing woodland scenics' realistic water for some time now ( Clicky!). Just curious that is it basically the same as clear resin?

I'm not sure it is. The Gedeo clear resin was £18 for 300ml and it sets solid in 24 hours, even when 5cm thick. I think water effects take longer to dry and has to be applied in thin layers.

| Amazing piece WBK!!! I really like the way you made the algae, perfect realistic touch. I think I would agree with Vagabond, but I also like the cubic one. What may make it look more fantasy-like would be to reinforce the edges with ornate pillars. This is not a perfect picture of what I mean, but it gives an idea: Also, I imagine that in medieval fantasy settings, large areas of glass should be extremely rare. Like in the middle-ages people would have to put several small pieces of glass together, for example with lead castings. To create that impression, do you think you could make little frames accross the surface of the tank´s walls, thus creating the impression that it is made from several little glass windows rather than a single big one? Again, not exactly what I meant but better than no illustration: In any case, absolutely stunning work WBK, thanks for posting! _________________ | |

| what tom said is very true but I feel it would be less pretty!
realismne is one thing, but easthetics are important to!
(also I disagree with the globe thingy! I like the square aquarium most!!)
I think it's perfect the way it is! after all, it is fantasy!
haven't you heard the wizards of the celestial college managed to make perfectly clear see through stones! they call it Glass! the imperial masonists can make almost any form out of this rock. I also heard the Orcs stole one of their prize tanks....

| Thanks for the ideas guys. I'm going to leave the Mermaid Emporium as it is for now... The glass wasn't made by medieval craftsmen it was... um... spontaneously created by magical means! I've started work on the Hurricane Anchor in earnest now - I'll get some WIP photos up in the next day or so! | |

| Looking good (as always!) - will look awesome when completed.
The spout is from one of the new Arcane Fulcrum kits released for Storm of Magic. It's holding aloft a big star of chaos in its original intended use.

| That's a LEGO boat! I have at least one of those lying around, thanks for reminding me! They'll be used by Kurgan Da Cleeva and Kera Da Reeva, being used as lifeboats/bording crafts/Random racing boats/river transportation from Da SeaCleeva. xD That looks awesome by the way, it'sll be silly cool when finished I have no doubt! Theo - the boat is Playmobil but the Lego one is a good size too. DeafNala - 5pointer is right about the vortex thingy. Most people paint it as fire, but no-one is surprise that I saw it as water! | |
