I've only just got back into this stuff, is Storm of Magic worth looking at? (I'm collecting Daemons of Chaos ) Definitely - it's SOOOO much fun! We play it more than regular Warhammer. - RobinTrevize wrote:
- Also, looking at your mermaid fulcrum has given me an interesting idea for a piece of Mordheim scenery.
Basically an abandoned freak show with various malformed skeletons in jars...the "performers" were forgotten in the chaos. Hmmm...could lead on to some interesting scenario ideas too. I like the idea - are you going to have a go at it? - RobinTrevize wrote:
- The water spout looks alright to me but I do have a question...Is that red steering wheel from Buckaroo or pop-up pirate or some similar childs game?
It's a horrible kitsch earring bought from eBay for making piratey terrain. - DeafNala wrote:
- EXCELLENT PROGRESS! The nautical touches to the bell look up to your normal high standards.
There's more work to be done on the bell - I need to add some more nautical-nightmare-nasties. | |

| I'll take a look at storm of magic in that case. With regards to the freak show scenery, I will definitely make one but I'm a long way off from even having a board let alone some good scenery pieces. :S Still packing to move house, and a low income equals low productivity. However it will be amongst the first pieces that I put together. Of course that doesn't mean that someone else can't get there first. | |

| Haha yet it's true! Your mermaid and tank blew me away. I'm not getting the chequered squares. Greenskins will ruin anything I guess. | |

| CONGRATULATIONS! I've found the completion of a long standing project to be a great source of relief & satisfaction...not necessarily in that order. AND it turned out WONDERFULLY WELL! The Hurricane Anchor is a FANTASTIC, IMAGINATIVE model with an equally fantastic paint job. I love the way the possessed water spout looks like it sucked up all the water from the surrounding area...at least temporarily. SUPERB WORK! The Fulcrums are fine excuses for creating interesting vignettes...excuses are wonderful things. I've got to get a list of the Beasties...the Fulcrums that is.

| Just in sight of the shores of Sartosa, a squat stone tower clung to a rock in the southern sea, in the area known locally as Skull Sands. The tower was weather worn and salt encrusted, sun bleached and infested with Sartosa's ubiquitous red crabs. The Cleavermaw's jolly boat pitched gently in the blue-green crystal waters as the tide rolled around the rocky little islet. The jolly boat was crammed full of sweating greenskins heaving on the oars - 12 Orc Pirates (and a Goblin almost everyone ignored) jostled for space amongst their cargo, as they approached the stone quay and prepared to go ashore. The pirate in the prow slung the looped painter over one of the jutting stones of the quay and jumped the narrowing gap between the boat and the quayside. He caught the stern-line thrown by the hand at the tiller, looped it around another stone and hauled it tight, pulling the jolly boat parallel with the shore. As the wooden gunwales bumped into the peer the crew piled out and started unloading the barrels and sacks from the boat. Kaptain Bilgewater stepped onto the quay and ignored the hustle and bustle around him to squint in the bright sunlight and survey the little island and the tower. He seemed pleased with what he saw and strode purposefully towards the reinforced door at the tower's base. His ragged once-blue coat flapped in the sea breeze and he pushed his battered bicorn hat tighter onto his scarred head so it wouldn't blow off. The door was unlocked but still needed a good shove to get it open. Inside the tower was dark, the shutters on the upper floor windows were tightly closed, but it was cooler out of the sun. The walls were a foot and a half thick of mortared stone, so even on the hottest day there would be respite inside. The ground floor room was a dust-covered jumble of empty barrels and crates - the stores that the last occupants brought with them had been finished, or looted, years ago by the look of things. The tower had clearly not been occupied for a very long time. Bilgewater "Hummm"ed to himself in approval and started up the wooden stairs that wound round the outside of the tower. Upstairs it was a similar picture of disuse and abandonment. The middle floor room was almost empty compared to the ground floor. The tattered remains of hammocks hung from the ceiling beams and rusted-through cooking pots were stacked in the fireplace but there was no furniture beyond a map-covered desk and a couple of crude chairs. With deep satisfaction Bilgewater noted the stacks of leather-bound books, dozens of rolled-up charts and maps, and innumerable empty rum bottles filled every space of the wooden shelving built into the walls. The ladder to the flat roof was pulled up against the ceiling in a clever arrangement of counter-weighted ropes and pulleys that slowly lowered or raised the bottom without much force, and kept the steps out of the way when not in use. The roof was empty - the Kaptain looked down over the ramparts at his little crew working on moving in and setting up their billets. Mr Badrot and Mr Deadwood were capable officers and could be trusted to keep them busy. The empty boxes and barrels in the ground floor room started piling up on the rocky shore as the crew cleared the space, ready for the fresh stores they had brought with them. | |

| That is quite nice A bit too many giant skullz even for the skull sands, but nice. I do love the little red crabs. It needs that stone quay. | |

| Like all the rest I am blown away by the sheer number of master creators here on this forum. You fulcrums are wonderful both in creativity but also in painting. I really love the way you pain wood, the boat for example. Can't put my finger on it but it just feels soo right.
Simply amazing! | |
