| Hej everybody, well, it has been a while since i was able to work a bit on my minis, and now i can finally present my new warband of lovely oldschool dwarfs for a nice treasurehunter warband, first time with dwarfs, we´ll see, enjoy! For the first time i tryed different styles of basesculpting, mixing some floors together, and also trying hexbases for the first time, found some nice versions of hexbased minis on Kingminis and thought, that could be nice new way for basing. First the noble " Jari Lofarson " and one of the coming Thunderers without a name yet Second we have Oswin the great, my warlock, and the trollslayer Skirfir will soon post the rest of the band and coming modells, floedebolle _________________ Lord Flasheart: And always remember - if you want something, take it! | OOh these look great, in particular I like the engineer mini. Nice work on the bases too, the warped plank on your clansman base caught my eye, a lovly detail. I've been tempted to try my hand at a dwarf warband too, just got my last fig yesterday. I normally prefer using plastic and chopping things up but there are so many lovely looking old dwarf minis that it's not that hard finding the perfect metal one. Your fellas look like thy will have a lot of character, nice one. Do you allways start painting with a white undercoat than a black wash before adding colors? | |

| Thanks for your comments guys, well @ smokezombie: i used some of the old minis because they are so unique and have so much chartakter that none of the new ones ( my opinion ) have, and about the priming method, thats the third warband that i do it with, and it works great, for the first time i see all the details on the modells. @ deafnala: well, wait for the others, they have not arrived yet, its actually kind of hard to choose your favs for the warband ( only 12 max ) cause there are sooo many awesome models of the old range. And as i wrote above, its the third time i use this way to prime, found the hint at kingminis blog, and tryed it. Okay, here we go with some others of the gang: First is a clansman, second the trollslayer " Modorok " First i a Beardling, second a clansman And last but not least another charakter , my new Elf hired sword, also on 25mm hex, and a favorite of mine, but he got of course nothing at all to do with those bearded stuntie fellows: _________________ Lord Flasheart: And always remember - if you want something, take it! | Aaaaahh! I LOVE the old-school citadel (mostly Marauder, at that point I suppose) dwarfs! This warband is gonna be supercool.
I love the model selection, especially the warlock (admittedly not very dwarfy by current fluff conventions, but one of my favorites by far so I say screw the background!). How do you use him in the game - just as a warlock hired sword, or do you acquire a tome of magic and actually teach one of your dwarfs spellcasting?

| @myntokk:yap,agreed, they gonna be uebercool, to say it in deafnala´s tongue, and i look forward to paint em.Concerning the wizard fellow, i use him as a hired sword warlock by now, but if it ever happens that one of those little guys gets his hands on a spellbook, well, you never know, there are plenty of oldschool dwarf adventureres/ wizard modells out there........... _________________ Lord Flasheart: And always remember - if you want something, take it! | Yeah i really like your collection of dwarf minis.
The next time i will also try this spray ink and then paint method.
You really see much more details on your minis.
I am still not a fan of those hex bases though. I like very much what you did regarding the floor modelling.
Only this hexagonal form disturbes me.
I am lookin forward to see them painted.

| I think I'd like to give the white undercoat and black wash priming method a go, too.
Recently, I have been using black undercoat with dark grey drybrush to pick out the details, and it seems to work well, too.

| These look really good! While I'm not a fan of the hexagonal shape of the bases, other than that they are superb. And the choice of dwarf models is splendid! These old models got so much more character than the new GW stuff. So, start painting! | |

| Hej guys, well, we all know: One is either in the mood for painting OR playing around with greenstuff, and i have been in this greenstuff mood for a long time, and it returned again today, after i recieved some more stunties, but this little fellows will form a whole new warband, a runesmith warband as described in the nemesis crown supplement. I thought that because they are set in a wilderness theme they also deserve wilderness bases, so enjoy: Havent placed them on the rooster yet, and there are some more to follow soon, stay tuned, floedebolle _________________ Lord Flasheart: And always remember - if you want something, take it! | WOW! You have quite a collection of Dwarves from a time when I had all my hair & teeth & some of my brain cells still more or less intact. I REALLY like what you're doing with your bases... FIRST RATE STUFF even unpainted! | |

| Cool to see your take on old dwarfs. Though I'd love to see these painted too. Awesome basing, you've really put effort on those. And using talisman figures is great idea. They are such lovely sculpts. | |

| Thanks guys! Of course i want to see ´em painted too, but you know, its this little thingy , called " time ", and i dont got much of it right now.But believe me, those and Dr Morrsliebs Fruit emporium will be the first who will be painted.
I do have 2 more warbands at the same level, will say based, primed and inked, Skaven, with oldschool modells from the ratmen range, and an undead warband made from loveley modells from the good old days, but stay tuned, as i am to post them soon, floedebolle _________________ Lord Flasheart: And always remember - if you want something, take it! | After reading your posts...I looked for these models on ebay...i've found almost everything, one by one, but... too much for my pocket. With your basing you're highlighting these minis...that's not simple.

| This has to be one of the most charismatic dwarven collection I've seen around! Each miniature is unique, which gives so much character to the warband. I wish manufacturers carried on making models like these...

| A FINE START! If it's been awhile since you've painted, overcoming the inertia can be very difficult. Now that you're underway, it should be easier to stay motivated. Keep up the GOOD WORK ...or else! | |
