This is the first warband I have assembled myself. I had great fun gathering stuff related to the wolf theme - and probably overdid it a bit (pun intended) Wink

The Sons of Ulric are in Fleckendorff (a small and insignificant village outside Mordeim) to recover relics from a secret shrine dedicated to Ulric. And to gather wyrdstone to fund their cause, of course!

Fleckendorff is a place mainly populated by Stronzo's Brettonian army - or stand-ins, if you like. It's our playground to test out warbands and house rules before our upcoming Mordheim campaign - and far too many warbands have been represented by archers and spearmen and what-not. But the Sons are here to stay - after nine games they are currently the second most succesful warband in the campaign (after two times underdog bonus against Beastmen) and they have earned their own miniatures Smile

Please note, that they are not entirely WYSIWYG. The captain started out with morning star, but ended up with a crossbow. And the henchman hero started out in the crossbow unit, used axe and hammer for a while, and now uses a morning star.

Can't wait to see how these guys look painted up. I especially like the extra bits like the chains, horn, daggers, and other pieces of equipment on their belts. Gives them all a look of seasoned adventurers. NICELY DONE!

+1. Great use of bits! For some reason, perhaps the head, I really like Dagh.

Thanks guys! I'm happy the bits make them look more adventurous - that was the plan Smile

@ Von Kurst: I know, right? It's just some resin heads I got from Micro Art Studios, but they really make the champs look... bitter/old/grumpy/fierce/drunken (not really sure). I will try not to ruin the fit between head and pose with the arms - he'll have morning star and shield as well.

Argh! I was wondering how to make middenheimers, since GW doesn't sell the mortheim sprue anymore and the knights of the white wolf are out of production. Now I need chaos marauders!
Great work with plastic, the shields fit excellent

Haha! Thanks - I think the marauders worked out fine. They are a little bigger than regular humans, but they can easily be fit onto a 20x20 base. Actually I used the so called 'hairy head sprue' - the sprue with heads, hammers and wolf cloaks for the knights of the white wolf. You get two of them when you buy a Knightly Orders box. Sadly, I haven't found any of the bits in any of the UK bits shops. But Space Wolf bits are highly available.

Edit: The only problem with the marauders is, that you spend a LOT of time removing skulls and symbols - just to put on new skulls and symbols Wink
