Skaven from Karak Zorn

With a few people from Poland, we started working on Karak Zorn supplement. It was over 2 years ago and we have still much to do, not because it's so complicated, but we had problems with time and motivation to work now we're working again, we want to finish it. Of course we want to translate this to English, but I don't know when, because we have to write all the rules and test them at first.


There are many warbands in Karak Zorn, the lost hold of the dwarfes, and one of them are Skaven (from Clan Moulder, although they are no longer part of this clan, treated as renegades since they have decided to stay in Karak Zorn). It's rather a close-combat-warband, with very dangerous beasts which can be additionally modified by one of the heroes - mad skaven scientist, who loves animal experimentation

So. First 2 models are old, I painted them 2 years ago, so they look not so great, but I still like the way they are converted, so I didn't wanted to paint them again. One of them is a scout, one of the heroes and the second one is this lovely scientist (also a hero), who can create many dangerous things from a plain rat and 20 warp tokens







Yesterday I finished also a ratogre, which I have started 2 years ago and completely forgotten... but nothing's forgotten So he's ready to fight!

Nice paintjob skavenblight, and the funny little mr. goggles with his injection is great!

All three pieces are BEAUTIFULLY DONE! I too LOVE the Ratty Scientist...the goggles & the hypodermic are cool touches.

Very nice skaven models! Eagerly awaiting the rules for Karak Zorn as well.

Karak Zorn?

Well, sounds promising, i allready played karak azgal. What new kind of warbands are there? And what is the background of karak zorn?

Karak Zorn is the lost hold of the dwarfs, abandoned many years ago and no one know why it was lost, but it's sure it must have been an ancient evil. There are many creatures who want to find it, but the evil seems to be still alive...

There will be 8 warbands, but I'd rather not tell more about them before we will have more to show here I will make Skaven and Fallen Dwarfs, but there wil be many more - undead, orcs, dwarfs, men...

Hurry up with your translation work, cant wait, love new rules , settings and of course, warbands!

Sounds exciting! And needlewielding ratmen are always fun to see (but they should never be trusted!). I'm looking forward to seeing more of this!

Giant rats! (Yes, they are rather small for "giant" rats, but I like the little rats from plague monks)

Today, new 2 heroes. The 2nd scout and the 1st beast handler.
I decided to change the colours a little, so there will be no purple anymore (I repainted purple things on the first 2 minis). I want to make this warband dark and dull. I try also to darken the red things a little...

Much as I like flashy colors, I've got to admit the Rat Guys look better in dark, subdued shades...nice color choices. As always the Lads are BEAUTIFULLY DONE!

The scout looks like he's been drinking with the Ostlanders again. Excellent work on the vermin!

I love your painting style... and your skaven.

Now the last 4 henchmen - skaven slaves. Slaves are weak and slower than giant rats, but they can gain experience, so it's good to take to Karak Zorn one or two of them. I made four to make the warband complete (there can be no more than 15 models in the warband, in my warband there are 16). I used clan rats & nightrunner bits and added the chains.

VERY COOL LOOKING Rat Guys! The chains are a nice touch. The underlying silliness of the Skaven is what appeals to moi. VERY WELL DONE!

The last 2 models are the 2nd beast handler and the beast trainer, who ist the leader of the warband. The beast handler has ratogre head on the spear, the beast trainer hat a little rat on his arm and the cloak Tomorrow I'll try to make some family picture of the whole warband

BRILLIANT! Those two are among the absolute best Rat Guys I've ever seen. The colors are perfect...not too dark or too bright. The strings of gore from the severed head adds just enough grimness without being over done. The hood on the Beast Handler & his little companion are really cool...he's my favorite thus far. GREAT WORK, Rat Girl!

The gore on the rat ogre head is splendid. How did you do it? The posing and choice of colours, along with your style, make these look fab!
