| This is my first time visiting this particular thread, and to say I am impressed is a MASSIVE understatement! Everything I've seen is a great work of art, as well as a cool environment to game in! Looking forward to seeing more. | |

| Great addition, even if I'm not really a fan of having lines on the board (I guess that's the price to pay if you want to have a flexible, modular board).
The colour scheme for the board is amazing and super realistic! Also, the fact that you have several levels and hilly sections makes it even more impressive!

| Greetings Fellow Travelers of the Old World! I have recently acquired a Grandmanner European Windmill with Thatched roof. http://www.grandmanner.co.uk/European_Thatched_Post_Windmill--product--630.htmlAfter carefully considering the base structure that came with the Windmill, I decided not to use it and I opted to make my own base using Hirst Blocks and some bits from the Warhammer Chapel in order to further tie in this piece with the rest of my terrain. I painted the wooden structure with various shades of Brown and this is what I have accomplished so far... I will post further pics regarding this project as the work progresses... | |

| Nice! All it needs is a Don Quixote figure on one of the windmill blades! Nice work on the wood stains in all seriousness. Looks like it'll fit right in with the rest of your terrain. Very well done! | |

| That mill ties in really nicely with your wonderful town. I can imagine it being located on a high spot, on the outskirts of the city.
Well done with the use of browns on the wood! I'll be watching out for more developments.

| It is paining up VERY NICELY! My only critique is that on its new base it doesn't look like the mill could turn; actual windmills can rotate with the wind. | |

| Nice windmill. One of the curiousities of the town I grew up in is that it had a European style windmill that early settlers constructed on the South Dakota prairie preserved as the town's artifact. One of my former neighbors helped restore it for the town's centenial. Consequently I love model windmills of all types.[Ramble down memory lane over.] | |

| Greetings Fellow Travelers of the Old World! I recently finished several terrain projects and I would like to share them with you... Here is a GrandManner Inn... I must say that I am impressed with the quality of the products from GrandManner. In fact, I plan to buy more buildings from their medieval and Napoleonic line. A Water Well... This piece was sculpted by a friend of mine. It comes in two variations. One with a sculpted stone base (which I think I have already shown somewhere) and a basic well, such as the one featured here. I am also particularly fond of this piece because of the paintjob. If you will closely and inspect the sides of the well, you would notice that the stonework was not well-sculpted in the sense that the lines were not deep enough. In fact, they were downright flat. I therefore was forced to paint much of the details on the well's relatively flat surface thereby giving it more depth and in effect, creating the illusion of actual stones placed on top of each other. P.S. Here is the finished Windmill... I have to agree with the observations of DeafNala with regards to the base of the windmill but I really did not like the shoddy base made by grandmanner that was rather clumsy and bulky, thus I had to sacrifice realism and went with tabletop functionality. Fortunately for me, Fenryll will release a windmill that actually works for me. I intend to puchase the same and I will share it with the TBMF community as soon as I have it. | |

| Niiice!
Very nice addition, and great to see them all rogether too.
And this thread confirms that I really need to come out of my comfort zone of making small scenery pieces like fountains, wells and statues, and start making 'real' buildings for my table

| Thank you guys for the warm reception and encouraging comments! @ Von Kurst: I shall try to take more photographs of the GrandManner Inn over the weekend my friend and the whole village thus far. @ Quase: I am pleased that my village has contributed in providing you some inspiration in " making real buildings for your table." I too am a great fan of your pirate-themed table and as I commented on your thread, I am eager to see a boat/ship-based house like the one made by the talented Dave Andrews! @ Captain Bernhardt: Thank you. I am fond of that well as well. @ cianty: Thanks a lot. To receive such a comment from a terrain master such as yourself is a treat indeed! | |

| Greetings Fellow Travelers of the Old World I have made another addition to my growing terrain collection and in my personal opinion, this latest addition created more interesting points for my gaming board. Here is my WHEAT FIELD...The source of my inspiration for this particular terrain piece came from the GW Hobby Book, "How to Make Wargames Terrain." The "wheat field" is simply a coconut fibre-based doormat which I cut in 6 inches x 6 inches sections. I then scruffled it up a bit in order to give it more depth and visual texture. I then attached it to a plasticard of the same size in order to prevent it from eroding around the edges and then used the GW fences to provide a visual boundary. I am presently working on a couple of "scarecrows" to complete the look of a picturesque countryside with a sprawling wheat field that would go well with my medieval buildings and farmhouses. | |

| Excellent additions to the village, Dex - especially the GrandManner buildings and the wheatfields.
Everything is coming along amazingly well. Your terrain collection is one of the best out there - and certainly a heavy inspiration for my own!

Ouch! I officially hate you now (in a very good way, of course) Any idea which ship he used on that one? And I really dig those wheat fields! **ponders the possibility of 'selling' the concept of agriculture on a pirate table to myself **

| I can see bits and bobs from the watchtower - including the top structure.
I was wondering myself what ship he had used for the conversion. I've been looking out for similar structures on eBay, under wooden boats/ships or ship kits. There are loads of possibilities there.
