Here is one of my latest buiding projects. My primary consideration is creating as many possible tactical situations in a location that are "playable". My definition of playable; you can position figure easily, verify line of sight and take the rules into consideration. Most of my second floors are a minimum 2" in height so require at least one initiative test to climb.
The initial Idea, plan and base...
Add the foundation. I have at least three types I use. A "dirt" level, a simple foundation of a piece of foam board (pictured above), or an elevated foundation built from 1/2" foam.

Then the floor is added and the base coat is applied... At this point I consider it useable untill the finishing touches can be made. This was the work of a single day, with each picture representing a 15 to 30 minuet block of time as I went about other activities. So easy a caveman can do it!!!
