| USA prices Duellists $14.00 Merchant & Scribe $14.00 Regimental Mascot $16.50 The Bear and Bear Handler appear to be 1 model already fused together. Do you think that they could easily be converted into 2 models? @cianty Is it Spooky, or do you think they read BTB and said let's make a Merchant, and an Assistant. Either way I am glad they did. | |

He he, I was just fooling around. Of course there is no connection. These models have been around (the masters) for a loooong time and they are obviously based on Warhammer Roleplay characters. However, I do know that some read BTB as Andy Hoare contacted me and sent his congratulations.

| Just done some Google-research and found these from GamesDay 2008. (BTW: These are resin pre-casts, NOT plastic models ) From GamesDay 2007! | |

| The Bear is an awesome model, shame in Australia it costs 28$! You Americans get it so much cheaper | |

| Ahh, I remember those from Gamesday UK '08! Amazing mini's, I wondered when they would finally see the light! I hope the bear and the handler are two separate pieces, makes converting a bit easier! I remember seeing the resin Master Models, the bear was a separate mini then, and it didn't have an eye-patch? WHY OH WHY did they sculpt on an eye-patch? Instead of giving you the choice to sculpt one on ourselves they already did it for you.. *sigh*
Definitely going to order the Bear and also the Merchant & Scribe, some great mini's!
The bear makes me wanna start a Kislevite warband.. Are you happy now, GW?!

| I agree that the eye patch throws the entire model off, not a big fan of the drum either. Its like Games Workshop are challanging us to fix their mistakes *sigh* Still awesome though | |

| Eh? The eye-patch and the drum make it into THE Mordheim Bear! Without them it would be just a regular bear. | |

| Well, if you are looking for a normal morel realistic brutish bear then start considering non-GW models - and you will find lots of great models. What GW provides here is a trained Empire bear with tons of character that perfectly suits the Mordheim style and flair as if it jumped straight out of the rulebook. EDIT: Or in short: What WBK said... (damn you! ) | |

| Oh, the wonders of converting! I think GW at least could've given us the possibility to convert it ourselves.. Besides, I like the first version a lot better! I agree that it has a lot of character and fits Mordheim perfectly, but I would've preferred the old version for a Kislevite trained bear over the current one.. But that's just me.. Oh, and I'll never ever use a miniature from a company other than GW for my warbands.. Yes I'm such a GW fanboy.. | |

| I do see your problem concerning usaility of the bear and a more normal one (like the "original" version) could definately be used in more ways. However, I do like it as is and I have some specific ideas for it... - Pfreck wrote:

| I would kill for the Scribe with traveling writing desk...just name the victim. I'm in the pro-eye patch group...different strokes & all that. However, there are a couple of bears done by other folks that I'd spring for in preference to the GW version...see pro-eye patch comment. | |

| The bear in resin is much easier to convert indeed, would be nice, but I think the bear with eye-patch and drum has alot more character! Especially for Mordheim, if you look at the art in the rulebook, you find al kind of things where the bear would fit right into! | |

Hmm, for Gierburg by any chance? Hey hey guys, I have NOTHING against eye-patches! Heck, I love eye-patches! I just think GW could've given the option for a different head perhaps, or just a head without one and maybe an extra eye-patch bit? (Maybe a bit too AoW-ish, GW wouldn't do that..) Or sculpt one yourself? Cheers

| If they were/are limited editions that would have simplified my decision...my reaction to limited editions & the higher prices they command is invariably "keep'em". I'm hanging on to my $s until the Fall, when we'll be making a pilgrimage to Book Stan's...Treasure Trove of Ancient Citadel Goodness. OF COURSE, if that scribe with the traveling work bench suddenly became readily available this decision would come up for review. | |
