| The Griffon looks like a steroid munching Army Bully, what happened to beautifull magical creatures? It's like he's ready to pee on his victims dead bodies *pukes* ... will be interesting talking about scale creep. ANOTHER huge kit, this time they've outdone themselves 3 in 1 I think I may be sick again ... they must expect us to buy 3 boxes of other stuff just to use the extra features somewhere in conversions. And then, demi-gryphs? Compared to the full gryph they should have called 'em 1:25 gryphs ... poor bugger doesnt even have wings, they look like overfed roosters with 4 legs ... how much fluff did they have to invent to create those? at least there's the captain and engineer which look like they are a good plastic kit and THEN, 99% of the comments bellow are "AWESOME, I LOVE IT " Maybe I just dont like people *cries* | |

| Thanks for the link. Grimscull had started a thread about the new Empire stuff in the Painting & Modeling Section. Some/most of the minis are quite nice & have extra pieces for conversion possibilities. They are, however, almost universally out of my price range. I had checked out some of their newer thingies last time I hit my not-so-local games store; I was, to be honest, horrified by the prices. | |

| In the old days, i used to buy all the GW monsters for using in Wfrp if nothing else. Now, all the monsters are the size of houses, and cost near as much as a house.
So now i look for monsters made by other companies, at more reasonable prices, not to mention scales.

| Looks like the bits stores will be getting some more custom at some point from me.
Some of the single minis have promise for Mordheim too.
Hoefully they won't all have 'KF' and 'Karl Franz' scribbled all over them :/

| Wow those griffons look... big. I don't like the style personally but it fits well with the 'excentuated' look the Empire's being moving towards lately, and I like the idea of double-headed griffons - taking a traditional 'fantasy' element of heraldy and making it flesh and blood. Very Empire.
I quite like the Demigryph cavalry too, gives a much needed fantasy boost to the Empire without jarring the overall theme (I'm looking at you robohorse).
The new war altars look interesting though they seem more suited to special 'characters' than rares. Flagellants are rares, magic astro laser turrets should be one off wonders of Imperial occulto-science.

Ah well... I do think everything is awesome, but also that most of it is ready for improvement (the Stirland way). It all comes down to personal taste I guess... I'm really excited with all the new models, even if I'm not going to buy them all (in that respect I have to agree with DeafNala, the pricing isn't pretty). Still, most of them will find their way into my Stirland army eventually...

| I must say that I am one of the guys that like most of the new stuff, the plastic looks great and above all, it has a huge potential for us that likes to customise things. I dont even play Warhammer FB anymore, but I still like some of the models, especially the empire stuff, perhaps they can even convince me to start playing it again. The pricing, well what can I say, it is a bit on the heavy side, but then, GW stuff have been expensive for a long time, if not allways. | |
