| ah, it's been a while, but i finally finished another mini Cypher Lukhan from the sadly demised Rackham metal line just as i finished it and was putting away my paints, i dropped a large box, knocking the mini over ... spear bent, paint chipped and superglue bond destroyed at the hand seam ... the howl you heard was mine again, the pictures are not 100 % good ; first batch was too dark, second gave some funny light tricks that don't do my job justice oh well, they'll just have to do | |

| While I too miss Rackham's minis, their incredibly ornate, highly detailed scuplts have often been daunting to someone of my modest abilities. You, my friend, more than do them justice. All the work you've put in mastering your craft has enabled you to consistently produce BEAUTIFULLY PAINTED WONDERS like this bizarre Fellow. WONDERFULLY WELL DONE! | |

| OH-SO-COOL STUFF! Your Cypher Lukhan proves what I always say about good things coming out of unfortunate circumstances...the reworked mini is BRILLIANT! I love the base & the paint job is appropriately FANTASTIC...sorry I missed commenting before now. I LOVE the Ogre & hate that Rackham is no longer available. The Ogre is your usual GREAT WORK; I'd wager the Goblin & Gear will be of matching high quality. WONDERFULLY WELL DONE!Please DO continue to post your updates...it makes getting up in the morning SO worthwhile. | |

| VERY COOL! I think the gun barrel looked somewhat better before the wash, but the sword looks SUPER as does the rest of the metallic wok. I love the way the two of them seem to be scanning the skies. TERRIFIC paint job & basing... VERY WELL DONE! | |

| I agree ; he isn't varnished yet ; I might try to pick some of the pigment back off here's some more pic's ; i tried with shadows in the ogre's face (mixes of flesh, green, grey, purple) like what i tried to do with the glass of the spy glass | |

| The new photos show the Lads Large & Small off to advantage...there are lots of lovely little details that went unnoticed before. It attention to those little details that turn the mini from good to GREAT... GREAT WORK! | |

| As always... VERY COOL STUFF! The Zombie's skin tone & the way you did his teeth are outstanding...it's a refreshing change from the "dripping-in-gore" look that seems to be in vogue lately. The Wight is TERRIFIC! His & his companion skulls glowing eyes are excellent focal points. On the flames: I think they're quite nicely done...they're just not the stylized type of adornment that has become the norm. I LOVE all your Dirz minis; AND these are no exception. You have a way of bringing out the eerie, macabre nature of the Beasties...the industrial look to the bases is a real plus. All are VERY WELL DONE! | |

| As always, VERY NICELY DONE! It's probably the photo, but, as you said, the Wraith's bone color is rather flat. I usually do a wash of russet over a honey brow; then go back over the bones with the honey brown; & highlight with sand (off white). With the flock, since I dry brush the flock, I do the spray after the flock is attached. Have you gotten Jen Haley's DVD yet? She & Natalya seem to be having a cleavage competition. | |

| hey buddy ! how are you ? for bone I do a couple of stages between beige almost up to white (bleached bone with some darker and lighter shades), then a couple of washes (bestial brown + tiny dot black) and then touching up with some bone shades again. Mostly works like a charm. I rarely drybrush bone anymore. Sometimes use some leather.
lol about the cleavage competition. Yes, I saw the Haley dvd, but don't remember the cleavage. Will check again. Saw the Natalya as well, but found it boring, but visual and soundwise. She produces astonishing work, but I did learn little or nothing from her dvd. I think I saw most of the painting dvd's now, and still think that the Jeremy Bonamant Teboul is about the best one around.
Isn't there a second Haley dvd ? Co-starred with another female painter that I don't recall the name of right now.
take care | |
