| Thanks for the feedback guys! What's that, an update without Engineers? That's unheard of... Amongst some other things I have just received two Mordheim models and I have converted one to be my mounted BSB. I had my doubts about the previous version I had been working on and decided to replace him with this metal model. It's the mounted version of the Reiklander Captain (from the second generation of Mordheim models)... Not one of the best sculpts, but with another head he looks quite good. I like it that he's got quite a big gut, (I like em chubby) obviously an old-timer gone to seed... I also adapted the banner a bit. EDIT: This is still a WIP as there is still some work to be done, the model still lacks a lot of detail and character... I also spent some time building and converting a General on Gryphon... It's absolutely not the first and probably it won't be the last, it's certainly not the best and hopefully not the worst... This conversion was inspired by the various other Empire players that have done it before. While it's hardly original I got the opportunity to get one for cheap and it was one of those things I still wanted to add to my collection. Besides, it's a nice model, I love the momentum of the beast... The conversion itself was rather simple: I removed the knees of the Elf rider and modified a Demigryph Knight body to fit the stumps. I also used the pennant from the Elf Lord and attached it to the lance. Last little thing I did was to make the reins fit to the hand and add a small loop of plasticard to complete the picture... I know he has a huge gap between his legs, I need to fill that asap:shifty: I have the new Gryphon waiting to be assembled, if only I could find the buildig instructions...

| Thanks guys, glad you like it! More Gryphon-flavoured updates! I purchased the new kit as soon as it was released, but never got around to actually building it. I had some plans turning it into a steam-powered monstrosity, but this is a hard model to 'improve' upon... In the end I decided I liked the model enough to put it together and with the IoB Gryphon just completed this seemed like the perfect time. I somehow managed to throw away my building instructions, but managed to put this monstrosity together nonetheless... For such a big kit, it's incredibly detailed and very well fitting! My General, no major conversion work done here... I removed his high collar, swapped his head and added a hood. Nice looking old-timer if you ask me... As I said, this is a hard model to 'improve' upon... The only noticable thing I did was to change the device on the shield to match the desing used throughout my army. Size does matter... You have probably heard or seen this before, but the difference in sheer size is quite remarkable! The Imperial Gryphon is a lot more massive and bulky compared to the sleek form of the IoB Gryphon. I quite like both, the Imperial model for it's bulk and the IoB one for it's movement... Thanks for watching! As always, your feedback is greatly appreciated, so please let me know what you think... | |

| Thanks guys! @ JoaoS You should! The kit comes with three characters and plenty of bits to personalise your Gryphon. Moreover, it's very detailed and fits together extremely well! I have been somewhat busy this afternoon... I have based both my Gryphons, undercoated them and even started painting! Be advised, the models are still very much WIP and are by no means finished, so please be kind;) Here they are, in all their unfinished glory... I decided to paint them together to achieve a certain degree of uniformity. Settling on a paint-scheme was more difficult than it should have been, there are so many examples to choose from... In the end I opted to paint them resembling a bald eagle (which I hope is apparent). I generally dislike posting WIP paint shots, as they make my miniatures look like crap... The beak and the claws still need a lot of paint/attention... Up close they look pretty horrible:roll: At least I am going to paint the eyes, but they, too, need some more detailing... Pretty pleased with the direction they are going in, especially considering that I only spent a few hours on them. Still, there is still a long way to go as only the basics are done. Thanks for watching! As always, your feedback is greatly appreciated, so please let me know what you think... | |

| Thanks guys! @ JoaoS There's an Amber (Beast) Wizard, an Empire General and even Karl Franz himself... Updates! I have continued work on my Gryphons (mainly concentrated on the Imperial one) and have some more WIP shots to show you... Remember, the Gryphon is still WIP and, while posting, I noticed the poor quality of the pics... Ah well... Getting there, slowly... I added another subtle highlight to the wings... The breastplate and rider are almost finished... There are still a couple of little things that need to be taken care of, but I have made some good progress... I have also painted the skin on my Wizard... A Wizard, most likely for use with the Lore of Life... Since I am not that keen on using Wizards, this is the first one that I will be painting for this army. The model is (as most will have recognised) an old Truthsayer. While not strictly Empire/Imperial, he's perfect as a Life Wizard... Thanks for watching! As always, your feedback is greatly appreciated, so please let me know what you think... | |

| Updates! Vacation has it's perks... I finished my IoB Gryphon and Jade Wizard today! Pretty happy with how they turned out... I tried to keep the painting of the two beasts as similar as possible. I think both riders have turned out pretty great, too. My apologies for the blurry pic. As soon as it's light again I'll make some more... I'll also give you some reference shots with other models to appreciate their scale... Having just painted two big Gryphons, this Jade Wizard was a nice change of pace... A very nice model to paint! I tried to give the skulls some OSL to create an effect of magical power coursing through the staff. As it's the first time I tried this on a model, I can't really tell if it worked or not... I guess it looks ok... And while the battery of my camera was charging I decided to enhance his eyes a bit, too... In my defence, it looks a lot better in person than it shows on the pics:roll: I do hope it gives the impression of magical powerrrrrrrrrrrrr... Somehow he reminds me of Peter Steele... This has been the first Wizard I painted for my Empire army. I normally play without any Wirzards as I prefer to invest my points on more bodies on the field, but recent games have shown me that you really can't go without (at least not against opponents who like to use magic)... So, even though I don't like them that much, I picked up this model and painted him. Now that he's all painted, I can see him finding a place amongst my Infantry. With the addition of these new Characters, I have expanded my army by a couple hundred points (not that I needed more)... Could a double Gryphon combo work in an Empire army? Scratch that, I'll try it out and report back:D Thanks for watching! As always, your feedback is greatly appreciated, so please let me know what you think... | |

| Last week I purchased this model on Ebay, it arrived today. I was inspired to attempt this converson by a model done by Monsterzonk... Be sure to check it out! I could use another Witch Hunter (nr. 3) so I decided to try my hand at converting one... I have a load of WIP shots for you! The Cultist leader from the 40K starterset... Since it's model designed for 40K it contained a lot of details that had to be removed... After some serious cutting and filing this was the result. All the big bits, made ready for assembly... I simply used Greatsword bits to make the Witch Hunters body. The body complete... I expected to need to do some filling, but with a bit of filing and cutting I managed to make the parts fit quite closely. The small gaps that are still there won't be noticable after a lick of paint. With an added gorget and a head from the Empire General on Gryphon kit... The gorget was needed to mask the gap where the neck used to be. The head is perfectly suited for a Witch Hunter... After the assembly of the main body I went in search of bits and arms to complete the model. In the end I settled on a pair of Pistolier arms, the right one I converted to hold a greatsword (to keep the model WYSIWYG). I completed the model with a scabbarded sword, a comet-charm, a book and the obligatory skull... The finished Witch Hunter... For an hour or two worth of cutting and glueing, I think the result is rather nice. Despite the fact that he's based on a 40K model, he will have no problem fitting in with my Stirlanders. All grim and full of contempt for, well, basically everybody else... Thanks for watching! As always, your feedback is greatly appreciated, so please let me know what you think... | |

| Thanks guys! I am absolutely in love with the model... Strange, I know, but it's true:roll: Anyway... Updates! I already put together three Demigryphs some time ago. I cut up ForgeWorld's Lietpold the Black to act as unit champion and even painted that model. After that, my Demigryphs were mostly forgotten (sorry)... I haven't even used them in battle yet! Last week I picked up another box (mostly on impulse, troubling, I know) and decided it would be a waste not to build (and use) them. The models are still WIP and the riders and mounts are still separate (hence the occasional askew pose of the riders). Even Lietpold needs a touch up on the painting... The movement trays and models are both fully magnetised. The whole lot... I opted for two smaller movement trays for three Demigryphs each instead of a larger one fol all six of them. This way I can field them in two small units and in one large unit, as the situation demands... Originally I wanted to convert the riders using all kinds of plastic parts but I ended up using several metal characters as Knights. As you can see I am still two models short... One is still in the mail (at least I hope so) but about the last one I am still having some doubts. Any suggestions are welcome! Model should be classic/metal/Empire... Thanks to the use of old metal characters, the unit should get a distinct individual feel, as opposed to my other Knights, who all look slightly similar... Also, I really like the mix of old and new models! I used the Mordheim Freelancer (Awesome model, you have got to love the Mordheim range), Rutgar (also a very nice model) and the classic Imperial Herald... I converted the Herald to hold aloft a new banner (nothing fancy, just a piece of metal rod and a drilled-out banner). I already have Lietpold as the unit's champion and with the Herald I have all command options covered. I know, a musician and standard bearer are supposed to be two different models, but this model is too nice not to use. In games I will point it out to my opponents and make sure they know what's what and that I paid for both options... I have also been wrestling with the list I am going to use this thursday... Why is it impossible to include everything I want (and, more importantly, everything I need)? I know I should probably adapt to the piece of crap that is the 8th Ed. army book, but with the previous book I could have included everything and then some! Ah, well... On a slightly related note: GW discontinued my favorite movement trays (and I am slowly running out)... Should you have some, let me know! I would be willing to trade for them... Thanks for watching! As always, your feedback is greatly appreciated, so please let me know what you think... | |
