| Oh wow! this is insane! love the idea of airships! do you have any rules for them? or will it just come down to destroy warbands who are getting out of hand? :p
one point though, you say there's gonna be no balloon holding it up, but it looks a bit too heavy for such small wings I think? maybe add more wings to it, or a balloon to balance it?
or just go for the best explanation available (also in real life) - it's magical!

or just go for the best explanation available (also in real life) - it's magical! There is no such thing as magic! It's called science ! I'm still very much in doubt if I should add a balloon or not... I will put of that decision for a while. And now for a little update... The prow of the ship... The stern... The statues on the prow and stern of the ship help create an Empire feel to the model. The pneumatics on the wings... Detail of the wings, including pistons and pneumatics... I tried to create a feel that all the sections of the wing could be moved. Rudder... The rudder can be removed and will remain separate until the model is painted. Since the last update I added a load of details and finished the wings, adding the pneumatics and all the pistons and connecting tubes... All the added detail is slowly transforming this awkward wooden bucket into something resembling an airship... There is still a lot to do, building a pigeon coop for the bomb pigeons, adding at least six swivel guns (I don't know where, I will have to make some space for those) and coming up with a suiting name for this craft... And then there is the question wether to balloon or not to balloon... Your feedback is greatly appreciated, so please let me know what you think.

| This is already brilliant. The pneumatics are ace, and the pistons on the working keel! Well there are round balloons, torpedo balloons, sails or just vertical propellers. Also you could just leave it as it is and say the barrels are filled with warpy gas. Lots of choices. Balloons can have nice colors though and nice padded texture with draped netting and sandbags. A crows nest can be cool. Do yourself a favor and google image search "anime airship" or "fantasy airship". So many pretty designs, so many sky cities to conquer. If you have a balloon you could have a nice "science" effects with smoke or gas. I might just do one myself now that this one is looking so delectable. I could hang it from the ceiling to save space. Oh dear, the airship bug has bitten. | |

| So what do you do for a job in real life? Smashing great stuff mate. Fill the gaps under the plinths on your bow and stern statuary, just a little wedge of something... | |

I'm a teacher at a primary school... Bullying kids all days is such a rewarding job! Filling the gaps is something that needs to be done, I agree. - Quote :

| On the Balloon Question: I wouldn't go with a balloon myself; the Contraption could use some form of combustible gas for fuel, which would also provide a bit of lift. As the gas is used up, the Contraption would lose altitude; SO...when the fuel is expended it would be a landing altitude. BESIDES this is Fantasy, not Popular Science. AND, according to aerodynamics, Bumble Bees can't fly either. | |

I use different sizes of plasticard, depending on the place and function of the piece... For the lines I use a hobby gauge which I found lying around at school... I'll put up a pic with the next update. - Quote :
- woha, mr. boreas, your stuff is great, fantastic plasticcard skills you have!
Are those wooden planks made one by one, or is it a whole sheet carved ?! The floors are made from single pieces but all the other wooden planks are all made one by one... Quite time consuming but yielding great result... - Quote :

I intend to use it for games of both Warhammer Fantasy and Mordheim... With the release of 8th edition, I decided to give my Empire Army (which is little more than a huge pile of bits) a boost, and what could be better than a scratch built airship! What kind of game are you developping, you got my attention! - Quote :

I like that idea... However, I have been making plans to add a balloon and put a crows nest on top (I still need a place to put the pigeon coop). I found the perfect shape (about two weeks ago, but I didn't pick it up at the time) in a hobby shop nearby... Still not completely sure though. I do like bumble bees! We tend to have a lot of those in our garden, they are attracted by one of the flowers we have... Thanks again for all the great feedback! New update coming soon!

Its going to be a steampunk with maybe a bit of horror skirmish game but will probably be alot more advanced then mordheim wich will have a adaption wich will involve airships(kind of like a steampunk sartosa wich the bording of ships ect) and a even bigger adaption wich will involve huge mobile citys and airships each will have there pro's and con's however i dont want to release to much with it still being in development. | Thanks for all the great feedback! Well, to all it should be pretty obvious... My vacation is over! Unfortunately this resulted in very little time for the hobby as I've been very busy. I have a sort of update for you however... I found quite a nice selection of rare mini's and other small bits online (tables, cabinets and other stuff) and decided to pick them up. Very, very cool and old stuff and I'm most pleased with it! They are not necessarily for Mordheim but will also be used for roleplay... I've included a few pics to show them off... A whole binch of cool Mithrill mini's... Hobbits! I really love those models! Maybe the start of a new warband... Table with some drunken gamblers... Some of the bits, really cool stuff... More updates coming soon as I have a free weekend coming up. Your feedback is greatly appreciated, so please let me know what you think.
