| Not only do I paint mini's, I'm also a walking wikipedia of music people never heard of (mostly obscure metal bands).
So, ladies & gentlemen. What music do you listen to when the painting beast has you in it's stubby little claws?
And yeah, I made this post 'cause I've got nothing better to do.

| There is a similar thread about music while playing Mordheim. For painting, my absolut favourite are audiobooks. When I run out of audiobooks, I generally go get some more audiobooks. When these run out too, I switch to my regular playlist on shuffle, which contains almost every genre (it is not a massive playlist, but it does cover a quite large spectrum. From Samba to Metal, via pop, rock, folk, classical, jazz, RnB, Rap (very little thereof though), electro-stuff and everything inbetween). I do have a preference for ballads, "romantic" stuff and rock though, while painting. Currently I can't stop listening to the Guns and Roses cover of Knocking on Heaven's door. I found this live version that is absolutely brilliant and I can't get the tune out of my head Probably one of my famous nostalgia attacks. It's just a matter of time before I whip out that Michael Jackson record and put on Billie Jean.. PS: I dare you to name a swedish metal band that I have not heard of. Although I used to be only into very few (Dark Tranquillity was my favourite) and have been out of my metal phase for a while, I think I am still somewhat metal-savvy... now it's your job to prove me wrong _________________ | |

| Ops, sorry, I was too lazy to do a search. I agree on audiobooks. I've been popping books after books after books by Robert Rankin the last month or so. May have to switch author soon or I might go slightly ga ga. A Swedish metal band you've never heard of eh? All righty then: Vomitory | |

No problem. It is a slightly different topic I guess, so no redundance here. - Mr_Sinister wrote:

| @- matt. Turisas are pretty ass-whopping. Got into them after seeing the Rasputin video. Nearly laughed my ass off. @Admin Tom- Ha HA (alá Nelson). Vomitory are one of the oldest Brutal Death Metal of Sweden, funny tho their songs have nothing to do with vomit. But the most important thing is, I win *gives myself a cookie* | |

| Jedi Mind Tricks, Non Phixion or Jus Allah are great options for my painting times. Also Bob Marley and some other riddims | |

| I usually prefer soundtracks - no lyrics, no distraction, just tension packed music but as my music library is rather extensive and I haven't even heard it all yet I tend to just play all I have in the hopes of discovering new gems in my own collection sadly, my record player is away from the paint station, so I cant rummage through those while painting... :S | |

| Sorry i'm a bit behind the times on this one, hey some of us still remember rocking in the 70's and 80,s. so for me it's Led Zep, Meatloaf, Def leapord and the like, but wait the worst is yet to come i have a large catalogue of old country and western that i love to chill and paint to Marty Robbins, Don Williams etc and the great thing about it is the one and only Robert Plant has made what i think is one awesome C & W album called Raising Sand with Alison Krauss. Should i crawl back into my box of obscurity now and hang my head in shame? | |

FEAR NOT; as long as you have moi here, there is ALWAYS someone more dated . As the name would imply, I, currently, don't listen to anything. HOWEVER, this was not always so; I have quite a broad range of various music genres to play through my mind, AND, unfortunately for those around moi, sing. When painting Night Goblins, White Rabbit is THE song. This also is a favorite with the raccoons who live in the attic.

| If that's playing in your head Deafnala, methinks you're lying about the ones from your mother doing nothing at all, i think they left their mark ingrained on your psyche, it's got a pretty good rythm to it though, throw in some Doors music and you're laughing | |

| Well I used to play power metal while I was painting! But now a days I usually have the tv on, or playing a clip from "Angry Video Game Nerd" or "Nostalgia Critic"! For some reason it helps me focus! I always had the ability to focus on two things at the same time! | |

Vomitory Vomitory is just awesome! Seen them 3 times last year and they really turned the hall into a madhouse every single time. But while painting, I like to listen to more "relaxed" stuff, the more melodic forms of Death Metal are prefered then. Alltime-Painting faves: Eucharist Gorefest Death Breath Dark Tranquility Entombed Bolt Thrower Hypocrisy But audiobooks are cool as well, I especially like the Discworld series you can get here in Germany

| Pantera! Re-spect ... PAINT! Mostly my playlist is just on random. This includes my alltime favorites: - Industrial Metal - Latin - Classical At the moment I listen to Pain alot. Great one-man project from "up north". Why am I not suprised to see so much metal in this thread by the way? | |

| Soundtracks from my favorite movies... actually, I often "watch" a movie painting minis. Of course, I do it only with the most favorite, which I know well, so I don't have to watch to remember what happens, I can only listen to it. Picnic at Hanging Rock is my favorite movie and the music is great! I've painted my second warband (Carnival of Chaos, but the previous warband, not this that you know from forum) "watching" Picnic at Hanging Rock 2 weeks day by day.
I like metal... no, I love metal music, but surprisingly, I don't like to listen to it when I'm painting. It's too loud and I can't think about what I have to do with the mini.

| Ow .... by the way: - Tool (awesome for painting) - Behemoth (speed painting ) They are polish btw, and AWESOME in myhumble opinion(although few people can stand them apparently) - Zyklon The sountracks of the following movies also suffice: - Kingdom of Heaven - The Davinci code - Hannibal | |
