Yeah, as I'd like to head on west after the meeting, the 22nd weekend would suit me better. So I vote for that.

With that issue settled, it's time for yet another question:

Do you think it's necessary that I know the rules for LotHS before the meeting if my pirates are going to battle your pirates, cianty? Or are they easy to learn so that I just have to take my crew to the meeting and they will be fine?

The Legends (ie Lord of the Rings rules) are super easy. Don't worry.

- "Simultanous" rounds, roll Initative at the beginning of the turn and then rotate in the Movement and Shooting phases.
- Movement = 6". No exceptions, no running, sneaking, hiding or anything whatsoever. Even charging is easier than in Mordheim/Warhammer
- They have a stat to determine Shooting, e.g. "S 4+" means you hit on a... guess what... 4+! A stat of "5+" means... hmmmm...
- Combat: Both sides roll a D6, the higher result is the winner. On a tie, the side with the higher "Fighting" stat wins.
- Wounding same as in Mordheim/Warhammer, although the chart is slightly shifted to make Toughness better than Strenght (S3 vs T4 = 4+, but S4 vs T3 = 4+ still).
- A little extra is the Fame and Fortune points but they are super easy (re-rolls, +1 bonuses and special action).


That's it already. It's really really and I'll help you with the rules when necessary. If you can grab a book of Lord of the Rings or Legends of the Old West, then that would be very helpful, but it really is not necessary to play a game. I can also make a Pirate or Privateer sample crew for you if you like.

That sounds really easy indeed, and fortunately, I have a copy of the LotR rulebook somewhere, so I'll just flip through it again (LotR really got me started playing, by the way).

And if you could do a sample crew, that would be great. You can have a look at my pirates to see what models I've got. Arrrh, I'm looking forward to the brawl
