| NOT BAD AT ALL! VERY gamesworthy pieces there. While the buildings may be a bit on the austere side, that scaffold/ladder thingy ROCKS; it's sort of a Jungle Gym from HELL! That must be a BLAST to game on. Thanks for the post. WELL DONE! | |

| One note I should add the tower, ladders and everything are not actually connected they are all modular components that I can move around freely. I would also like to add that they are very easy to make hot glue(dries fast fills gaps), stir sticks (square ended my favorite building material), brown paint (watered down and wiped off with a paper towel)

Do you have any suggestions for the buildings to bring out some flair and make them more appealing to you? -robert-

| The buildings ARE appealing, just a little plain. Things you might consider doing: On the upper building add the nice window frames you have on the lower one; scribe the stone floors to look like individual stones; add a bit of debris; break up the walls with a bit of color: posters, scrolls, or graffitti work nicely with this. On the lower one: rough up the woodwork [a wire brush or razor saw work nicely for this; just draw them along with the grain] a bit & stain with the same technique you used on the ladder thingy. Again a bit of debris & add on color would give them a bit of pop. The cool thing about terrain is that you can always go back & add little touches. It makes it an ongoing thing that develops as your modeling skills progress. I hope my suggestions don't offend & prove to be helpful. | |

It would be pretty hard to offend me. I agree with the boringness of the gray building that was built years ago when I just needed stuff to fill the table and wanted it to look presentable. I was using it as more of a comparison of what I used to make and what I now make (although I guess that would have worked better if my current project was completed). I like the ideas of posters and graffiti. As for the second building as mentioned it is WIP and the wood will be stained as the ramps and ladders and things. As far as debris goes I know it gives things a better look but I try to avoid it because I feel it interrupts the playing surface too much. Maybe I could throw some dirt in the corners without getting in the way. The other reason I avoid debris piles is because I usually don't base my buildings and it would be odd to have debris in the top floors with nothing in the bottom floors. I may make a few free floating debris piles that could be placed anywhere on the map. The critiques are always welcome I am on the forum to learn how to improve my craft keep the comments coming. -robert-

| For games play you can mount the debris on a piece of sheet styrene [plasticard], foam board, or card board, & remove it when the space is needed for the minis. BTW the minis look REALLY good with the terrain you've made. | |

| Hi robertrunner welcome on board.
IMO, the first building appears more like a 40K building than a medieval one (mainly due to colour choice and shape of windows) but is very playable anyhow.
Deaf's advices are good.
freestanding platforms and stairs are very useful too, and you have a good approach for look-playability-time.
Good work, and hope to see some more things in the near future.

| Ok here is the gallows that I made. the platform is actually fully functional. It will hold the weight of a mini and when you pull the lever that is just to the left of the mini in the picture the platform drops out and the mini hangs I should try to shoot a video of it for greater effect. Can you post videos on here? or does it need to just be an outside link? | |
