Skavenblight's Averlanders

Time for new warband... I started with my Averland in the summer, but I had the other warbands to do, so I've just started painting it. I have painted 2 halflings, 2 mountainguards and the captain The first mini I want to show you is my captain

Wow awesome freehand on the cloak there! What's the story behind Averlanders? He looks flamboyant! (I don't really know anything about the different regions of the Empire)

Actually, he is called so because of my boyfriend, but I knew that also you will like it

Good pick. "Thomas"s are usually very nice people. Take me for instance... I always got along great with myself. That must mean something

Back on subject: OH BABY! That IS one COOL mini! As has already been said, he's beautifully painted, wonderfully positioned to capture a sense of motion, & nicely based up with your normal touch of personalization in naming the little chap. The ABSOLUTE best part of the mini, however, IS knowing that more will follow. VERY, VERY WELL DONE!

I find the trick to hanging out with yourself is to argue outloud in different voices. This doesn't work for hanging out withother people.

LIke him alot, great cloak/freehands! I also like the base alot, some sort of slug gutter or something?
Can't wait to see the rest.

Next minis - halflings.
I don't really like these models. But in every Averlander warband I've seen there were always the same halflings and I wanted to have something else in my warband

WHAT COOL LITTLE GUYS! I've never seen these minis before, but they ARE REALLY COOL, short, but cool nonetheless. EXCELLENT basing & painting. VERY, VERY WELL DONE as always!

you are aware of the LotR halflings right? why not go with them if you don't like these? I really like their funkyness though.. specially the helmets! haha

I'm sorry... I got so distracted by the paper the Captain is holding that I ALMOST missed the cloak. HOLY COW! How many times I have tried to do that and failed miserably! It only makes me appreciate your freehand some more.

The halflings seem ready to kick some butt! Great job!

Ok Three I need to ask
1 where are those halflings from?
2 you do know that Averland's state colors are black and yellow right
and 3 are the mt.guards done yet?

Of course. The part of the warband will be painted right - mountainguards, sergeant, youngblood...

These are so very characterful and colorful! I want to make an Averlanders warband as well, but painting yellow black and green after paining night goblins, my current warband, seems like more of the same... But you have illuminated upon the basic scheme in a way i can shamelessly steal!

I've been collecting Citadel halflings for over 20 years and I've never seen them before. Are they slottabase? If so, it'll probably have the date on there (...although you probably won't want to rip them from their bases now you've painted them so beautifully!).
