All Averlanders are converted and ready to paint, but I have little problems with time, so... thanks that you don't let me forget

Time for an update...
So, these are my mountainguards. I've worked on them almost one year, because I couldn't find much time - it's too long for 4-men henchmen group... so you can see the difference between the oldest guard (Otto) and the newest (Peter). Of course, Otto looks not so bad, but after one year I'm not so happy with this mini. However, this warband looks still pretty good, so maybe it's not very important.

More pics on BLOG, there are many of them because of the lighting that was not so good at the end of the day (it's quite dark in Warsaw at 16:00)

As always, VERY NICELY DONE! Pretty snappy dressers in TRUE Averland tradition. I looking forward to the group potrait.

I try to finish the warband as soon as possible, but there are still 5 minis to paint...

But a little update may be done, because I painted a new marksman. Hopefully I will finish my Averlanders next week.

There are 2 official interpretations of this not-so-good-conversion, you may choose what you like or think about your own interpretation:
- he finished shooting, the enemy is near and he has to take his sword to prepare for the charge in the next turn
- he finished fighting, so he leaves his sword to take the crossbow and shoot in the next turn

Hummm..... well I gusse that makes sense. I have a quiver of bolts on my marksmen though. I would try and do that if I were you btw, it makes more sense that haveing your crossbowmen pulling bolts out of then air

...OR he's run out of cross bow bolts AND now has nothing to shot except his sword...no,huh?. In any case, YET ANOTHER COOL mini! I like the new style of names you've added to the bases..it has an engraved wood look that suits the War Band. VERY WELL DONE!

I see you are full-WYSIWYG-fan... I agree it looks more realistic, but to be honest, the models have so many things we can't show on the mini that I decided not to show some of these parts, like free daggers or quivers (some of the models in Averlanders warband have quivers, but some not). I try to achieve the balance between a good looking model and a Christmas tree Of course, the other thing is that I have converted the Averlanders over a year ago, and now I don't like a few of them, but I have to finish the warband and remember all the mistakes for the future

The model has a quiver on its right hip...

I really like how you blend and highlight your greens. I always have trouble with those colors. Whenever I end up using them it tends to look like warpstone. Awesome job though.

It should be more lucky day to update this thread. I finished my bergjaeger models and was very happy, but yesterday's tragedy that happened to Poland was the worst day in Polish history after 1989, so we all feel bad because of this. However, the wargaming hobby can help us to survive these days and bring better thoughts, so I hope this will happen, when we will live like before, even if we will never think and feel like before.


Here are the new minis.
One of them wears a mask, because before he was hired by Averlanders, he was a thief and even today he fears that someday he gets arrested. The second bergjaeger is a simple hunter who wanted to change a situation of his poor villager family, so he joined the mercenary warband going to Mordheim.

You have my condolences on your national loss.

You also have my CONGRATULATIONS on some REALLY COOL minis...LOVE the Guy in the mask & the background fluff. You SO consistently turn out GREAT minis it sometimes is difficult to come up with new superlatives to describe them...VERY WELL DONE!

I was terribly sad when I heard the horrible news. I'm sorry for your loss, but glad to hear you two are well.

Regarding the new models, I really like the cloak, but I can't quite place it. It seems a bit different from the stock Middenhimer furs. Did you sculpt it?

Yes, I did... a little. It IS a Middenheimer cloak, but to make it more... dynamic (the wind blows etc.) I've added a little fur to it.

SkavenBlight, Beautiful models as always - and while I generally dislike politicians over here in America, the compassion you show for your polish politicians speaks loads of them. I am truly sorry for your loss, great men and women they seemed to be.

On a lighter note, love the fur on that cloak! (And just about everything you do really, I just apologize about not posting more often!)
