He guys,

Just a quick question regarding the skelly warriord in the rd warband rules and the wights (who are supposed to be superior). Only I dont see any difference between them, except that the wights can gain experience. You would at least expect them to have a higher ws or t right?

And another thing.... On the border toen burning website thereare 2 versions of the rules for the restless dead. One of them containing options with a bone giant. Which one is the most balanced?

Regards,

Rory

Wights have +1 Leadership and can gain experience. Gaining experience means that Wights can gain advancements and can also become heroes which is why they cost 10 gc more than Skeletons. It is an investment that will hopefully pay off for the RD warband.

I would use the version of the RD warband without the Bone Giant/Bone Goliath. Please note though that BTB did not entirely remove the Bone Goliath from the RD warband but simply turned it into a quasi Hired Sword similar to how the Clan Skyre Rat Ogre is a quasi Hired Sword for Skaven warbands. I didn't go through the two versions of the RD warband rules to see how they differed but I did note that the BTB rules make the Bone Goliath increase the Warband Rating by +50 which is at least one difference between the original rules and the BTB rules.

Oke, but what is the purpose of the grave guards then? If they cannot search for treasure? (Am I reading this right in the rules?).

The Grave Guards may roll exploration dice, but they may NOT search for rare items. These are two separate functions. Promoted Wights may not search for rare items either.

Oke my bad. Do you think it is a balanced warband? Seeing as the necromancer can use 2 dice to search.

As I asked on your other thread, where does it say that in the rules?

I can find a special Trading rule:

Restless Dead Warband wrote:
Gofer: as an Apprentice, the Necromancer spends
much of their time running errands for their Liche
masters and over the years get exceptionally good at it.
When a Necromancer searches for rare items, they roll
3D6 and pick the two highest.
