Ok they are really nice:) What type of resin do you use? And how well does the solicone hold up? (I'm asking 'cause im planning on casting a bunch of industrial containers and wondering if resin could be better then plaster, due to weight and so on!)

Hej christian, well, if i had to chose between resin and plaster i would use dental-quality plaster.
Its cheaper for the first thing, durable enough, and dont think you could save on weight by using resin, its as heavy as a dry plaster, and more expensive.Dont use the chaep byggemarketgips stuff, its not hard enough and breaks easily.
Hope i could help,

floedebolle

Ok thanks, I thought the resin was much lighter! I would like to test the dentist plaster sometime! I been using somrhing called "hårdgips" or hardtgips, its much more durabel and dont brake as easy as the ordinary plaster. I also thought about mixing the plaster with linseed oil, it will be rock hard i think!

HEj christian,

so, think that the haardgips is mostly the stuff they use in dental labors, just without beeing coloured and maybe not as precise as the dentstuff.
Please take care what kind of lineseedoil you are going to take, cause if you take the wrong one it will be not good in the end.
Working with lineseedoil almost every day ( med svensk olie!Wink, i have a lot of experience with this stuff, and man had i problems some times, just for having chosen the wrong one. It must be a preoxidated one PLUS a sikkative, to fasten the drying time, dont use the raa linolje, it wont be that good, could work, but not as good as the other.

Hope i could help,

hilsner fraan tyskland!
