Hi.

I found this on my facebook today. It was posted by an Australian GW store. It could be interesting to follow if it turns out to be true.

Edit: The specialist games are really both Fantasy and Sci-fi... perhaps this thread should've been in General Shouting?

Necromunda! No mention of Mordheim specifically but here's hoping! cheers

Would major news break in Australia versus the UK GW stores or is this more of a leak from some employee materials?

Also I have had the pleasure of visiting Townsville when my squadron was on exercises with the RAAF. Drove a moke (rental buggy) around Magnetic Island. Was a bit funny as we were from Oahu and to some moke was derogatory slang for a local in Hawaii.

I'm not sure how they intend to resurrect the old games. Supposedly they melted down all the old molds...of course, G.W. is not all that well know for their association with the truth or other ethical things for that matter.   Suspect

This has now been reposted in some form or other by at least 5 different GW stores' FB pages. Two of those were clearly full copy+pastes from another store's announcement though. Not going to fully believe this until we hear something official from GW itself. And, honestly, not sure I'm looking forward to support for these games coming back. Having them official and in stores might help draw in new players, but having stable rulesets that aren't constantly changing is sort of nice.

There is a post in the Warhammer App! This is actually happening. The timescale is long but the promise of NEW minis rulebooks and terrain is so exciting! The Forgeworld team is part of this but they are recruiting on a huge (for GW) scale at all levels to build their new team.

Kurgan the arcane ruins terrain set has now appeared on the UK GW site too for sale.

Do we reckon in response to the success of other companies with these sorts of games?

Being both a cynic and a GW grognard, my recommendation to everybody is: "Don't get your hopes up."

That said, I have been wrong and/or pleasantly surprised in the past. The last time, as I recall, was in 1999 😉

I think it must be - they must have seen the likes of Frostgrave and Guildball and thought "Dammit - we had that market cornered a few years ago!"

While some new plastic is always nice I hope they dont mess up the rules. I'm happy that they are taking new(-ish) steps but slightly dissapointed by the idea to just redo old games, they should be doing new creative things not just necro 3 and blood bowl 7

GW have started the hiring process with 3 jobs in the Specialist Brands being advertised in the UK.

http://jobs.games-workshop.com/2015/11/13/specialist-brands-product-manager-nottingham-uk/
http://jobs.games-workshop.com/2015/11/13/specialist-brands-model-designer-nottingham-uk/
http://jobs.games-workshop.com/2015/11/13/specialist-brands-writer-nottingham-uk/

'Do you want to be responsible for designing and developing an exciting new range specialist games and models including reimagining some of the old favourites such as Blood Bowl, Battlefleet Gothic and Adeptus Titanicus?' So, some old and some new products.

It's getting warmer. Maybe just rumours, but still. The important sentences for us are the last under the topic "Specialist Games" here:
