| It was another sodden day, rains and winds driving the northerners along the muddy forest road. The road from Middenheim had been long and hard, but finally, the forest gave way to tilled fields and cleared land, pocked with farms or small hamlets. Or at least there had been. Now the farmhouses were ruined, the fields abandoned and those few hamlets that still stood, was behind palisades, foreboding and grim. And beyond the barren farmlands, under a seemingly eternal pall of dust and smoke reared the ruined and broken towers and gables of a vast city: Mordheim. They paused on a small hillock, at the edge of the woodlands. Hartz was the first to speak: "Ulrics' hairy ****, that looks bad". "I 'eard that!" Wolfram scowled at the impious mercenary. Mannfred Schwarzhaupt patted the Priest of Ulric on the shoulder. "Forget him, there'll be plenty of time to scold him when we're rich off all the Wyrdstone that awaits us!". The motley group of wolfpelted warriors began the descent.Mannfred Schwarzhaupt is the intrepid leader of the Middenheimer ruffians known as the Fangs of the Fauschlag. After news of the disaster at Mordheim spread, Mannfred and his warriors heeded the call of wealth and renown, for Ulric and profit! Heinz Scwarzhaupt is the older brother of Mannfred, but without his younger siblings charisma or guile. Content to fight and drink, he wasn't hard to convince on the merits of an expedition to the City of the Damned Wolfram von Immelscheld has accompanied the Schwarzhaupt-brothers on their expedition in order to ensure that Ulric gets his due. An old accomplice of the mercenaries, Wolfram is no stranger to the carnage and turmoil that besets the Empire in these dark times. Middenland is full of impressionable young men, eager to earn glory and wealth beyond their station, and Ilmer Frieser is one of these poor, wayward men. A novice of the world, the journey to Mordheim has left him somewhat more wary of the many temptations that assails the traveller, and doubly so of gambling with his fellow mercenaries. Rainers' Wolfpack are seasoned fighters, avowed to the service of Ulric and coin, having fought alongside the Schwarzhaupt-brothers numerous times. Their de facto leader, Rainer Wolfschanze is an accomplished swordsman and quite a bit more cunning and conniving than he usually lets on. Hartz Grüber is a hoary veteran, having bashed the skulls of Beastmen, Orcs, Reiklanders and any one else who've opposed the Middenland armies for close to two decades. Never one to rest easy, the call of Mordheim found a willing listener in Hartz. So, I've returned to Mordheim! One of the greatest games ever put out by GW, I found it quite easy to drop all pretensions of working on any full-sized armies for the time being, and with the Age of Sigmar pummelling us all with its mediocrity, I figured a band of roughshod Ulricans would be just the thing to keep my frustrations at bay. More to come, including more Middenheimers, my Orc Warband, and quite possibly two(!) distinctly different Skaven Warbands. | |

| Thanks a lot, there's been some interference, but I'm slugging along and will hopefully have another Youngblood very soon, followed by that Crossbowman I've got lounging around. | |

| Klaus, the self-proclaimed "Student of Altdorf" sought out the Fangs on their long travel to Mordheim, attempting to hire them as guides and guards to pursue "scholarly interests. However, it soon became apparent that he was more interested in tavern-wenches, gambling and drinking than in "Gæographicara" as he had originally claimed. Something of a charlatan, the Fangs have nonetheless kept Klaus around, as he's shrewd, cunning, conniving, and able to count well beyond the tenth pint, saving them a small fortune on bar tabs when the rest of the band are too drunk to count or careKlaus is based on a mates Character from our WFRP-campaign, where he's been playing a student-turned-charlatan... Oleg Irinov is a recent addition to the Fangs. Hailing from the icy north, the sombre kislevite has found acceptance, however hesitant, amongst the Middenheimers.A Kislevite crossbowman I bashed out. Got some fur trimmimngs and a hat, but otherwise straight forward. I also have some photos from the inaugural battle of our Campaign from a while back, but I think I'll write up a battlereport for it before posting them | |

| Some time ago, my clubmates and I played a 4-player game to get into the spirit of Mordheim. It turned into a fairly tense game of Occupy, with the bands battling over the ruins of our then-new Mordheim Terrain, as well as some assorted extras, as we were playing on a 6' by 4' table to accomodate all four of us. The table setup. The objectives were the buildings and tower all interconnected with bridges. Louis brought his Reiklanders, plenty of firepower including Longbows, Handguns, Crossbows and a pistol on a Youngblood(!) My own battle-line was drawn up in cover. Sadly I didn't get any shots of the two remaining Warbands, but the other Louis had brought along his Skaven, including a Rat Ogre, and Sebastian had his Vampire and Undead minions. The first few turns were spent maneuvering into position, and the Reiklanders taking ineffectual potshots at both the Skaven and my Middenheimers, the only real results being the Rat Ogre losing a wound to a lucky Crossbow, and one of my swordsmen dropping off a bridge, crucially leaving my Captain unsupported on the catwalks... Everyone was dead scared of the Rat Ogre, even though it spent a long while slinking in the shadows... Eventually it was brought to battle with my two-hander-armed warrior, although he was rapidly torn to shreds by the nasty thing. Heinz ended up avenging the poor man, aided slightly by a Ghoul and a Dire Wolf, and thus succeded in bringing the huge monster low. That proved to be my only success, as elsewhere, the Vampire and another Ghoul tore through my Crossbow-armed Kislevite, and the Skaven Assassin and his Black Skaven underling sent my captain crashing from the bridge, and I routed. Captain and Warrior ended up dead from their wounds, though my remaining heroes picked up a fair share of Wyrdstone, allowing me to re-hire the two-hander, and bide my time for the next showdown. | |

| Thanks, they ad a great deal of mobility to the rooftops, although anyone brave or foolish enough to cross stand a great chance of plummeting to their doom should they be shot or charged We're still constructing more buildings of various elevations, so eventually we'll have a totally cramped table with unlimited set-ups | |

| The wind whipped through the mists clinging to the hills outside Mordheim, sending slivers of icey chill along Wimbrechts spine. The scorched ruin that had once been the jewel of the east was further obscured by the dusty pall that still hovered over the city. His face curled with disgust at the company his master had him keep, as he cast a quick glance at the motley band of Greenskins his master had somehow managed to bribe into undertaking the expedition. Their leader, a massive brute trudged closer. "Dis 'ere's da place den?" the beast inquired. "Yes." Wimprecht was barely able to disguise his disgust. "Bring the black shards to me here, and I will pay in gold." A raucous roar rose from the fanged maw of the Orc, causing Wimprecht to flinch and back away, slowly realizing it was what passed for laughter. The rest of the greenskins joined in, the snickering of the Goblins particularly grating. "You's a weird lot, ya pinkskins! We'll get da funny stones, bash anyfink wot's in da way an' take yer gold allrite. But no tricks, or I'll 'ave yer 'ead fer a cup!" Pale-faced, Wimprecht nodded vigorously, for the first time truly wondering wether his master or these beasts were truly the most fearsome.Ghazrek's big, mean and aching to bash some heads, natural leadership-qualities in Orcish society. Kruzkh is GHazreks' right-'and orc, ensuring the rest of Da Ladz are showing the proppa respect. Da Lads are a motley crew of boyz, eager to show the Big'uns and Da Boss that they're proppa Orcs wot's got da Choppas where it counts! Ghazrek's Grabbas returns to Mordheim! I've updated my old Orc Warband somewhat, and there's more members of the Mob, who'll get pictures tomorrow. | |

| I've posted these before, but it's been a long while. Nazgob's the second of Ghazreks enforcers, a grizzled orc wit a terrible temper to match. Razgit and Grishnog are two of the numerous goblins that congregate around the camp, usually referred to as "Thievin' gitz!" and "Oi! Leggo me stuff!" by their larger cousins In other news, the merry band of Green Meanies have had a couple of outings, first Defending the find from a band of adventurers (Witch Hunter warband without hatred of sorcery, but access to more exotic equipment), where the Ladz gave most of the humies and their Ogre and elf hired swords a good lickin', but ultimately lost due to being outnumbered in the objective building. Secondly, a massive 6-player-extravaganza, where we were all set to rescue/kidnap the prince. Again, the orcs faired well enough, going toe to toe with a Beastman and Marienburgher warband at once, but ultimately routing as casualties mounted, mainly due to a fearsome Skaven band, featuring a Rat-ogre/Veskit double-team. Ultimately, the natural hardiness of the boyz won through losing only one boy and two gobbos, with one of the latter being lost due to getting too uppity and showing talent A couple of nice underdog-bonuses later and the spear-boy is now a hero, everyone's gotten some nice advances and I'm looking to expand the Warband with a few more Ladz, Gobbos and Squigs, in that order. | |
