| I'm starting to put a couple sample warbands together for a couple nights of "hey try this awesome game out" at the local place, and thought I might as well post some of the stuff here. A fair amount of these ideas have been borrowed from other, more talented Mordheimers. Credit to you, if you see something you did first. First off, some Undead. I have a Necromancer warband written up we're going to try out, and this guy is for that. Abdul Alhazred, a dark practicioner who claims to have written a book of necromancy as potent as all the 9 Books of Nagash combined. A patently untrue claim made by a most likely crazy man who will die at the hands of the forces he's attempting to control. Then, some traditional Undead. We're going to use this pretty great Vampire Bloodlines thing I found to be used with the rule book Undead, so I'm going to model one Vampire of each family, so whoever chooses undead can have a choice of how they play. First, a Lahmian: The Necromancer for the warband, who i will accept no name for except The Crone and a Von Carstein. I'm not a fan of the monsterous, super armored portrayal of the Von Carsteins that GW has going on right now, so I wanted to go a bit more traditional with him. He's a 40k Commissar, with a Dark Eldar right arm, and the blade of his sword replaced with a clan rats spear. I don't know what to do about his head, any suggestions? Next a wariior priest, so far he's all a flagellant with a skeleton warriors chest plate. I know i've seen someone do this before, so great idea to that person. Not sure what arms to use though. Heres the Underchieftain for our Clan Rictus warband (mostly just a normal skaven warband). And finally, an Orc hero for the Orcs and Goblins warband.

| Congrats, i love your conversion, especially Abdul, the von carstein vampire and the big orc!
For the von carstein, why don't place his head in the right hand? I think it's in a perfect pose to make that! But i understand that may not appeal to everyone something like this! For the head i've not idea at the moment, if i will ill edit the post!

| There are some dark elf champion heads that may work well for a Von Carstein. Flowing hair, grimace, mouth agape lending themselves to some fangs being added easily. Dreadspear plastic kit or cold one knights kit. Your conversions are looking great. | |

+1Abdul is such a great idea! (I'm always interested in ways to make more Arabs from existing kits.) Depending on your vision, the vampire head could come from the corpse cart or the Space Wolves (not sure what kit, I got my SW heads in a swap). Either way both kits have fanged heads.

| Hey thanks for the kind words guys. Abdul is a pretty shameless rip off of a Necromancer thats posted in the "fez and turban" tutorial here on the site, so I cant take any credit for that. I just used a different flaggellant head. Heres some more WIP guys for the warbands. A Strigoi thats just a slightly repositioned Zombie Dragon Ghoul King. He's going to be standing on a dessicated body most likely, and I saw an awesome one someone did with a pelt draped over its shoulders, so i might try my hand at that as well. Necrarchs have long been my favorite bloodline, so I'm hoping I'm doing this guy justice. He's built from a cairn wraith, with a flaggelants head, a necromancers collar, a dark eldars right hand, and stormvermin feet. I have a corpse cart on the way, and I'm hoping to extricate the riders wizened left hand off of it for this guy. Lastly, this guy is probably the most WIP at the moment. A brute for the CoC warband. My plan at the moment is for him to be wearing a Greatswords hat, and i want to hollow out one of their heads, cut off the face and have it hanging around his neck like a mask that he's taken off to expose his horrific face. I'm unsure of his weapon at the moment, I may go back to a more traditional axe head. | |

| Thanks guys! I should probably get to painting these, but I get lazy and tend to move on to modeling the next guy instead of painting the last one. Heres the Barrow Keeper for my Necromancer warband (that Abdul at the top of the page leads), rules of which are here: Necromancer Warband | |

Thanks Deaf. I don't think thats the intent with the arm, I think its just his sleeve, but thats a neat idea, I kind of like it. Got some more stuff put together, with some Skaven-y goodness: A Clan Skyre Rat Ogre. Just a Blood Isle ogre with a gun from the Rat Ogre box, and his tail replaced with a tentacle from a Dark Eldar Talos. A Clan Moulder Wolf Rat, with the Barrow Keeper next to him for scale. He's a Fenrisan Wolf with a rat ogre head, and a Storm Fiend tail. Those tails were kind of a god send for this conversion, since the Rat Ogre tails kind of suck. Heres one I've wanted to do for years, and am just finally getting around to. A Clan Pestilens Plagued Rat Ogre. Made from a River Troll, with Rat Ogre head, arms, and tail.I don't usually care all that much about mold lines, but they're real bad on these arms. Might have to do something about that. Progress on the Warrior Priest: And I think this is the head I'm going to go with for the Von Carstein vamp, just have to sculpt hair

| You REALLY have a flair for kit-bashing. These Guys/Thingies are all FANTASTIC pieces to the point where I 'd be hard pressed to pick out a favorite. GREAT WORK! There are times I will not only leave a mold line, but accentuate it...it bugs Ezekiel. The flaming arm is cool...so to speak. | |

| Thanks a lot, Deaf. Thats awful nice of you to say. Did some more work tonight, mostly on the Dregs for the Undead warband. William the Odd and his brother, William the Very Odd. I imagine their father was like George Foreman and named all his children after himself. Havent named this one yet and the Capitano for the Tilean warband. I think I posted the rules for them a couple years back. I like this sword for him, it seems slightly out of the Empire-norm. | |

| For all the negative feeling that G.W. has generated over the last decade or so, they are an OUTSTANDING source of parts for UBERCOOL conversions. You prove that out with each post. GREAT LOOKING STUFF! By the way, where are the William Brothers' heads from? That was a fairly hard question to phrase correctly. | |

| Got some more updates! And still no paint! I'm horrible at sticking to just one thing apparently. All these are still very WIP anyways. A Middenheimer captain. Fluff wise, he's a former member of the Knights of the White Wolf, having since moved on to more... lucrative fields. Got the idea for the build from a random image search. And the Wolf Priest for the same warband. I know the wolves head is ridiculously big, but I kind of like it like that. Adds a bit more to that kind of offbeat feel Mordheim has. A prideful, arrogant Reiklander captain An update on the Carnival of Chaos Brute. Not a lot more done, just added a hat from the Greatswords sprue. A guy toting a hochland long rifle. Don't know if he'll ever see any action, but i liked the pose. A Cult of the Possessed Magister. Pretty common recipe at this point I think. Some brethen for the same warband. I'm trying to decide if they should get some pointy hoods or not. Feels like they should. And some Repentents for the Estalian Inquisition warband (the rules for which are somewhere on this forum). I want to sculpt some shackles onto them. | |

| Thanks guys! Finally putting some paint to plastic. The Repentants up first. They aren't allowed weapons, so I thought their hands being covered in blood would be appropriate (not that they'll ever kill anything), with the added benefit that they'll double well for zombies if need be. and Abdul Alhazred, all painted up. I think I need to add some blood splattering or magic effects or something... he doesn't seem evil enough as is: | |

| While I'm not a big drenched-in-blood Guy...Hollywood has horrifying & gross mixed up, the Repentants are REALLY COOL...your color choices & brushwork are SPLENDID. Abdul looks the part of the Evil Sorcerer; again OUTSTANDING brushwork & colors. GREAT WORK! | |
