| Hello all, I'm thinking about trying out a variant theme on my Undead by using the rules for another warband. I think I've settled on Skaven, but instead using their rules to portray a band of undead assassins. Now I'm looking for a starting point to create the henchmen from, and I'd like to find something to give an assassin/ninja/stealthy ghoul look. A good example of what I have in mind would be this: Shady and possibly deformed there underneath the mask. I was thinking of maybe using the new Skaven stormvermin as a base? Their bodies should be hunch-backed in a fitting way and with some bitz swap I can avoid any fur. Let me know if you have any suggestions for me. Thanks in advance! Edit: Oh, and I think this guy is already in by default: | |

| I believe Carneval might have some suitable miniatures. The theme isn't very warhammer-ish but really, who cares about that.
I would recommend skipping the skavenand instead try out some cool miniatures from other companies. Where is the first creep from?

| COOL LOOKING minis! They're the sort of evocative pieces you can build a War Band around. | |

| Thanks for the comments! Alex, the ones I've shown are both from Freebooter's Fate. They, like Carnevale, have a good number of carnival-themed assassins that I could go with instead. It'd be a band of rather aristocratic-looking human thralls instead of ghouls but I think it could also work well. Some nice examples are the following: - Spoiler:

| Oh yes, both Freebooter and Vesper On Games have some great sculpts. Something that comes close to the first model but would allow for a lot of henchmen due to them being in plastic sprues with lots of bitz would be the Mantic Ghouls. They certainly are more dynamic than your average Ghoul. What people often don't know because there are rarely pics is that the sprues contain hands with daggers and even fighting claws. Of course they are a little shabby and in rags, but hey, they ARE undead, the are henchmen and maybe with the right colour-scheme they aren't THAT shabby anymore... | |

| I've used the Mantic Ghouls for both my Skaven and Carnival of Chaos warbands. They're fantastic models, really customizable, and would fit your theme perfectly! | |

| I've built plenty of Mantic's ghouls for my Warhammer army and I'm even using them as undead ghoul henchmen right now but I've never even noticed that they actually have weapons on the sprues. That certainly opens them up as a good alternative, and I could probably do some bitz-swapping to vary the weapons between them.
The toss up now is between either a band of masquerading humans or a band of ghouls as my models to use. I'm going to do some more thinking before I take the plunge in either direction.
