Hey guys! I've started playing around with a new box set of ogres. It's a shame I haven't got my bitz box from years ago, or any paints.. Yet. Having about 9-10 years away from doing this kind of thing.

Now I'm out living where I'm aloud to use a chopping board for all my modelling/painting needs, here's a few pictures, any tips or constructive criticism is more than welcome. I'm trying to eventually make a theme, which is hard to explain right now. And apologies for the bad lighting!

I think it's the second time I've ever used green stuff. The models are coming on, very rough around the edges. I need to rethink the order I do things. The model here with the belly has turned into a club wielding, dreadlocked mountain guide. The hatted ogre will hopefully look worthy of ein my Maneater captain.

I'm hoping to get a band of fur wearing, fairytale giant styled ogres. Doubting with my sculpting skills that this bunch will be show worthy haha. I'll see about getting some pictures up in a while seeing as the light is better.

The Tip of The Day: Green Stuff is highly addictive; you'll soon find the need to convert/modify EVERYTHING. Be that as it may, you've done a FINE job thus far with the conversions. The Ogre sans Gut Plate looks TERRIFIC & I love the fur hat. Keep up the GREAT WORK!    thumbsup

If your not opposed to mixing manufactures, Reaper makes a couple of Ogres in fur.   What a Face

The hat looks great, gives the impression of cold-weather gear, maybe Kislev area? I like the idea of a snowy Mordheim setting but it seems it would be a pain to model terrain properly. The fur on his shoulders seems very form fitting, unless its his own wool then looks appropriate. Laughing

Hey guys, thanks for the comments. I was hoping to get an almost all weather feel or these models, but yes, I do have a massive like for the Kislev styles and cultures.

I'm finding green stuff does carry an addiction, it should come with a warning on the packet. I also think I need to find it for cheaper, I went with GW with my first batch.

I'll have a look at the other fur wearing ogres you mentioned Cianty, I'm on the search for some models, or conversions to make some ogre youths, I had an idea about cutting the middle section of the standard ogres out to make them shorter. I'm not so sure that would turn out all to well though.
Cheers!
