Daemonic Weapon

Quick question: What happens if a Hero with a Daemonic Weapon (from Rewards of the Shadowlord) gets either Robbed or Captured; is the weapon bound to the Hero or not?

RAW, no it is not bound to the Hero because it is not stated that it should be treated like anything other than a regular weapon with a fancy name and special rules.

I do see opportunity for a house rule. Here are some questions to ask within your group. Does it make the most sense from fluff to be bound to the Hero (probably)? Alternatively, is it more fun to allow it to be bound to the Hero or to be taken from the Hero? If the Daemonic Weapon can be taken from a Hero then should there be any restrictions on using it (e.g. Witch Hunters verses another Chaos warband verses 'neutral' warbands like human mercenaries)?

For now we'll go with the RAW. He lost his weapon and was retired two games after, only to be replaced by a 870gc insane Possessed, who just got his legs smashed, so he cannot run, by one of my Orcs; that's what happens when you get greedy with a 12 exp Possessed worth way too much

And it's definitely more fun if it can be taken from him!

In my group we play that it can be taken. Once, one of my friends chose a Demon Hunting Rifle. The avarice and jealousy from some quarters was almost palpable. It led to a great many alliances and back-stabbings and kidnap attempts and grudge matches and so forth. Ahhh, good times. It was glorious. Sometimes the glory covered 6 feet up the walls.

We also have a house-rule that the Magister and Possessed may take demon weapons from bretheren (and, of course, that Possessed may*use* demon weapons). The bit about Possessed being able to use them is mostly held in check by rigorous enforcement of WYSIWYG.

Haha, jealous types ouch. Possessed with Daemon Weapons just seems a bit over the top

i had a player rage quit from having their deamon weapon broken on a sword breaker

We have a house rule that broken weapons can be repaired for 50% of the purchase price or 50 gold, whichever you want. Things that don't *have* a purchase price can only be repaired for 50 gold.
