| Here are the 6 hero models I use for my Marienburg Mercenaries. They start out armed with Crossbows, so they can stay out of the fray in relative safety while still being able to support their melee-oriented Henchmen. Left to right: Captain Leopold von Handel, Champions Adelbert and Joep Wilhelm, Youngbloods Himmel and Braam, and my LGT Marksman Fredrick. After they have spent some time in Mordheim disregarding females in favor of acquiring currency, they gain more specialized equipment. To aid them in their endeavors, they enlisted Leopold's merchant brother, Gerhart von Handel (Arabian Merchant), his bodyguard Rolf Ritter (Guardian Skill), Bertrand (Beggar), and Snaggit (Goblin Lantern Bearer). All made possible by the power of magnets. | |

| Thanks. Today I'll be finishing up my Wood Elf Ranger and Halfling Thief... I hope. EDIT: Boom, here they are on a piece of terrain I recently finished, along with a fountain I did slightly off in the background. The beginning of the Von Handel Venture Company | |

| I really like the contrast between heroes and the henchmen - nice touch! Very ambitious with new models for the experienced heroes. | |

| Thanks for the feedback. ^.^
The more experienced heroes don't get new models, I magnetized all the arms for all my heroes and henchmen, so I can switch out their weapons as they change.

| Nice start, and good choice of colour! Why not give your scenery some washes of super thin colour, would enhance it a lot, looks good so far! _________________ Lord Flasheart: And always remember - if you want something, take it! Bobby! | I might do that. The flash washed out the building a lot, but I might hit it with some agrax earthshade and maybe a wee bit of green shade in some spots. | |

| Crossbow heroes are great. I run them as a gunline, and after giving them the Money Maker skill, they get Quickshot, Trick Shooter, and Nimble so they get more shots, ignore cover, and can move and shoot once. My LGT hero is always a Marksman who gets Hunter and a Hochland Long Rifle. 30" and S4 is amazing.
Most people fear my one or two black powder weapons, because they're black powder, but completely miss the fact that they're getting 10 shots each turn at the same strength and longer range (except for the Hochland).
I love my Crossbowmen. | |

| My LGS uses the DeDS Mordheim rules, which contains a series of common skills, some of which open up other skill trees. Money Maker is a common skill from this ruleset. It's a Hero-only skill that allows the hero to roll two dice and choose one for exploration.
I combine 6 heroes with Money Maker, with a Beggar Hired Sword for a 7th explorer, a Goblin Lantern Bearer to add 3 to the final exploration result (often results in an extra shard of Wyrdstone), A musician with Lore (+/- 1 to a single exploration die), Master of Lore (Extra exploration die from the musician), a Wood Elf Ranger with Seeker (same as Lore), and 7 rabbits' feet for 7 re-rolls in the exploration phase. Then I get the Arabian Merchant hired sword and give him the Stonecutter skill to potentially add 2d6 or 2d6 gold each game when I sell my wyrdstone.
Ultimately, I never care whether I win the game or not. I excel in the exploration phase, which is where the real power is. I won't always have the strongest stats in the game, but my warband is universally the best equipped of any warband in my LGS.
6 heroes, 6 henchmen means I only need to sacrifice 3 henchmen to route, and having 6 heroes with double-tapping crossbows and an elf with an elven bow means I've got 13 shots at 30", all at S4 (Wood Elf now has Heavy Pull). Your average warband will have to endure 3-4 rounds of that before they hit my line of sacrificial grunts, who will also be shooting bows and blunderbusses.
The only thing that really starts getting in the way is higher toughness beasts or warbands with ridiculously high movement (like Hobgoblin Wolfriders).

Could you translate DeDS please? I have no idea what you are referring to.

http://home.deds.nl/~mordheim/MordheimRulebook.pdf I think what we were going for here was what does DeDS stand for; while the abbreviation may be a familiar one to you it's meaningless to Von Kurst & myself. A simple copy & paste of the rule itself would have worked better than a download of the entire rules set also.

| Or just what DeDS stood for. I've seen that link before so I know not to download it. But now I know what rule set you are talking about, so I'm good as far as the rules you quote. But what does DeDS stand for? | |

| No idea what DeDS means. We just use it as an identifier to separate it from the original core rulebook or Coreheim. | |
