| Nice stonework Daniel! As for raising the terrain, for my board in progress im doing most of my modular plates 300x300 mm, and im doing wooden "raisers" that you can put whatever plates you want on top raising it to a height of 70 mm, so im not stuck with fixed platforms. | |

| Thanks guys, for the praise and tips. Of course I have seen Theomar's current project. It's basically the kickstarter to my work.
Not sure if I can get any work in today. But it's not like I had been sitting still. |

| LOOKIN' GOOD! The arches are particularly nice. The variety in height will add to the atmospheric effect you are looking for. I also view the terrain as a stage for interesting photos. Be that as it may, GREAT WORK! | |

| Long time no see! Sorry, no pictures in this update, but I wanted to let you guys know I have come back to Mordheim. Back when I started, I basecoated two or three pieces black, and then painted them grey, and the result was... not good... I continued building up new pieces but didn't coat them in paint. Until this week. I bought a different brand of paint and the result is so much better. I now feel confident to start finishing up the first pieces I did, so hopefully in a little while I will have some finished pieces to show off. One thing I found out which was unfortunate was that as I created new pieces, I started carving smaller and smaller tiles, thinking it would be of a more realistic scale. As it turns out, more realism doesn't always mean more awesome looking, as the tiles became a little too small to hold cool little detail like cracks. This means that my later pieces are visually less striking as my older pieces. Good thing I didn't make hundreds... O_o So now I can return to form and create slightly bigger ones, which saves me a ton of time too... Carving is painstaking work. Hopefully an update soon! |

| I can identify with the "insane painting spree", particularly the insane part. Yesterday I painted up & mounted a building I've been staring at for weeks. That aside, The buildings, intact & in ruins, painted up WONDERFULLY... SPLENDID choice of colors & some FINE brushwork. I love the rubble effect. GREAT WORK! | |

| I promise next time I will add some minis for scale. I am a little bit affraid the streets are going to look a little bit too colourful. I want it to become dark and gritty, and I am afraid the coloured stones are not doing that. On the other hand, I also do not want my city to look bland.
What do you guys think? |

| That modular board is shaping up nicely. I imagine it permits a lot of different configurations, and the work you've done on the tiles makes it difficult to know where one ends and the next one begins, that's just perfect.
As for the stones with different coulors, don´t worry, they don't detract from the overall dark atmosphere. | |

| Dark atmosphere is definitely still intact with the colored stones. I'd actually recommend adding MORE spot colors with things like rubbled bits of timber and roofing tiles scattering the streets, and mosses or grasses growing the cracks. But that's just my personal style; I like my terrain busy. | |

| Thanks for the kind words.
Worry not, Assassin, there will be more stuff added. But first I want the basis to be down. Moss is definitely going to be added later on, though probably paint only, not necessarily real grass. I am not a huge fan of that stuff. Maybe I will add sand painted as moss... That might be a good idea actually.
I am also going to put barrels and crates and stuff like that on the table, but I am probably going to buy more in a year, at an annual convention. It's not like I am in a hurry. In the meantime, definitely expect some severed bodies littering the Streets, guts and intestines scattered about. If I may say so myself, I am not too bad at painting and modeling guts. I am far from the best, but it is more than servicable, and I can't wait to add stuff like that to the bases. My fountain base, of which I kind of dislike the smaller tiles, is going to be the prime offender, because that way I can nicely cover up what I consider small mistakes. |

| Thanks Wrinkle. Mayhaps one day our warbands will meet on these streets. Who knows. Hopefully I will have some more time and energy to continue on them soon. Right now, not so much. Plus I also have some desert pieces I need to do for Warhammer Fantasy and Dropzone Commander, as well as some other stuff, so I need to juggle between all these things. |

| So, work has continued on my biggest piece yet, and I clearly bit off more than I can chew. Next time I will go back to slightly smaller stuff... Work my way up the right way... I decided to put some paper maché (that stuff you make with newspaper, water and PVA glue) over the tin foil, because in my previous piece, the tin foil kept showing up... Epic fail, after 12 hours it's not dry yet. Too much water, too little PVA. Hopefully in another day it will be dry... Otherwise I will just splurge on a ton of PVA and sand, and hope for the best. In the meantime, I decided to start compiling warband lists into what I am hoping will one day become the "definitive" versions. Links to the files and the thread for discussion in my signature. I am hoping people will appreciate and use them, and hopefully help me out a little (as has already happened) . With so many files out there, it's hard to make sure you have everything you want, so I decided to start out with writing warband lists that has everything (including rules for all the weapons) in them... For ease of reference. I am hoping that the community will one day view them as the definitive versions. Please, check out the thread and help me make it the best thing ever. |

| LOOKIN' GOOD! Getting carried away is a FINE method for expanding your crafting horizons. GREAT WORK! For rubble I normally use a scarp piece/block of the insulation foam; carve in some bricks, rough up the areas for broken brick/scree, & add some broken beams (odd cuts of balsa) & paint. It's light, a refreshing change from the more complex stuff, versatile, & fun to make. | |

| Thanks guys. Deafnala, more rubble and beams will be added, but I take it small steps at a time. There will also be some rooftiles, but my method of building is "Do first, think later, realize you're doing it wrong, keep doing it anyway.", so it's taking a little while before I can attach those parts.
Floedebolle, I am not sure where Absurdistan is, but mayhaps one day your warband can come over to have a cup of tea with mine... I know there has been a Mordheim weekend here in Holland before, and perhaps one day another weekend will be hosted, and I might be there. Maybe you too?
Tonight I think I'll have a little break from Mordheim scenery and focus on some Dropzone Commander scenery instead. |
