| this is my second "overlapping" building module the Temple of Eternal Light (could be for Sisters of Sigmar, but I never got around to getting that warband) it definitely will not be "ruined" but a functional, defensible building as those viewing my posts know, my boards have 8" x "8" openings for buildings this building was planned as 12" x 12" but it is now 12" x 11" the shorter 1" provides alley access to the back gate 2nd level will be an octagon with "rooms" on 3 sides, open to below 3rd level will be walkway around octagon only, open to below domed roof, oculus open to below! pretty sure dome will be gold total height ~ 11" comments and questions welcome 2 sketches showing some of my planning and changes a few views of the base with completed tile work I generally now do tile work before walls before I would do walls, then had to squeeze my hand in small rooms! identification of space (1st photo) left to right, top to bottom: 1 outhouse 2 barracks 3 private room 4 kitchen 5 courtyard 6 dining room 7 stables/storage (next to temple wall) 8 temple 9 covered porch (bottom left); was supposed to be enclosed storage room but then I realized a 1.5" wide room wouldn't really be accessible in play, so a change... what was that? is there a secret door again? yes! a la Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, crypt entrance in church in Italy... # # # | |

| While working to a plan has never been my thing, the merits of the method are obvious in the results. The floor looks BEAUTIFUL...I love the hidden entrance to The Crypts. It is a VERY promising start to another FINE building. GREAT WORK! | |

| 3rd level floor cut flooring about 1/2 done (but not shown) roofs to do 4th level floor cut and laid out (but not shown)spent time thinking about whether the dome level has anywhere to stand or just the dome whether the dome is complete or damaged...not sure yet 3 levels of brick work with solder iron on (harder than usual) plywood = tedious! still some finishing solder work on level 1 WIP... multiply for all sides and you will get an idea of what level 2 (and 3) will look like | |

| more updates showing layout of walls and brick work penciled on it's also one long strip so that I can safely and accurately use the jigsaw to cut out windows! (it's very hard/impossible when u pre-cut walls THEN try and use jig saw...) single piece roof for over quarters/rooms cut out 2 of 3 walls laid out with gateway & door cut but not photographed roof lines drawn out 3rd level wood flooring done still walls and roofs to do note opening along walkway ladder to below planned u can start to get a sense of the scale of the building also the interior angles/line of sight for shooters walls starting to go up interior railing finished (have to repeat for 3rd level...sigh) good to NOT have all walls glued in place...made railing access and construction much easier build from inside out! you can see 2 access openings that will have ladders from level 1/ground floor the exterior porch/covered walkway framed out u can see the side door detail and double arches on back side that I don't think I showed in prior post level 4/dome laid out but not cut or photographed yet dome structure construction concept almost finalized, but nothing to show today hope everyone gets a better sense of how I'm translating and modifying my early plans all for now | |

| This is fantastic! That tiling technique is really interesting, I've never seen anything quite like it before. This building is very promising indeed. Theo | |

| thank you luddite, mikey, deafnala, theorox, theomar finished 3rd level railing starting on roofing on break from burning bricks but will probably get back to it later today doorway and birck lay out interior shot through front door different angles quick note on why I plan and measure: don't want to eyeball/estimate a 1" (for 25 mm base) or 2" width (for 2 x 25 mm bases) then find out later my figs don't fit! hopefully more pics this weekend... | |

| VERY IMPRESSIVE! I would imagine careful planning is necessary with the materials you use...foam is much more forgiving. The planning certainly bares dividends; i.e., your creation is BEAUTIFUL. WONDERFUL WORK! | |

| slow progress roofing coming along a wall or two more the dome is framed probably some light floor framing so figures can stand undecided on: 1. removable shell that covers whole frame 2. partially destroyed dome 3. leave as is ... | |
