| For those of Discerning Taste who have hitherto avoided my thread in the Scenery & Terrain Section, I will now inflict truly horrid photos of astounding mediocrity upon you of the Inhabitants & the Happenings in the Spooky Woods: Zooming in on The Hunters entering The Woods: Bringing up the rear has dangers of its own: Last seen leaving The Road: I think that The Woods may prove to be a major source of entertainment...at least for moi. That aside, your kind comments would be most welcome..or you can break an Old Man's heart.

Thanks for the kind comments, Saul. I thought using The Spooky Woods & other terrain pieces as a Puppet Stage might be an entertaining way of presenting the minis I do; AND once I start gaming, solo or otherwise, the reports can take on a Fairy Tale ( from HELL!) style.

| I like this a lot! The gobbo named "Bwana Bat Eye" with the shotgun was an especially nice touch. Makes sense to give the one with the worst eyesight the scatter gun! | |

| Thanks, Spectre! I think I may enjoy naming the Little Guys even more than painting them. Bwana's trusty side kick is Beastly Burden. | |

| Damn! Those are fantastic. I really enjoy your way of painting, it's so different from my own. It is as you said rather fairy taily,an old childrens bed time story with goblins and beasts in metal. Very vivid and living. | |

| Thanks for the kind comments, Alex! I'm delighted you like the stuff, & took the time to say so. One of the attractions of Tom's Mordheim Hangout for moi is all the different styles of painting/modeling/basing. Seeing all the different takes is one of my main sources of inspiration. | |

| This is so cool. The living trees are awesome. I love the bright colours and the ogre is excelletnly posed, converted and painted. The skin tones on those gobbos are also especially cool. | |

| Thanks, Ed! I'm glad you like the stuff. Now that I've started completing some of the terrain boards that have been W.I.P. pieces for quite awhile, I figured they would provide atmospheric settings for photos of the minis & any solo gaming I do. Seeing the Little Rogues in a proper setting is motivating moi to paint more & make more scenery...this is working out just fine...I suppose. I have a thread with ALL sorts of W.I.P. stuff (the Spooky Woods & Heep's Place are towards the rear) here: https://boringmordheimforum.forumieren.com/t4674-maudeheim-environs-updated-05-25-13 | |

| Thanks, JoaoS. Your kind comments are most welcome as always. I think that using the various scenic projects I've completed or have underway as stages for photographing my minis is going to be entertaining, hopefully for you, the viewers, as well as moi. | |

| Great thread, Al! I really like the miniatures, and having one of your goblins myself, I can attest to the awesome quality of the paintjob. Haven't been here for a while, but hope to show up more often again and then see some more miniatures here | |

| For some twisted reason, the first thing i thought of when I saw those little Imps was The Red Guy out of the old "Cow and Chicken" cartoon. I like them. | |

| Thanks, Spectre! I had to look up Cow & Chicken...I can see the resemblance. I'm shooting for an Unseelie Court that could pass themselves off as a Motor Cycle Gang. | |

| Greeting DeafNala!
I have said it before and I shall say it again my friend... you are such an amazing and creative genius. you are the "Tim Burton" of miniatures. Your imaginative and whimsical approach to painting miniatures is as fresh and imaginative as Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, also known as Lewis Caroll.
Your edgy style in painting miniatures also reminds me of Paul Klee's "Twittering Machine" in the sense that your denizens of the spooky woods that is DeafNala's imagination are both delightful and unsettling... it is friendly and inviting yet wicked and menacing at the same time.
I also love the way you paint goblins. They are so sinister yet comical at the same time. As proof of your artistic abilities, I invite everyone to look closely at your goblins... those goblins look exactly like the "Potato Eaters" of Van Gogh!
I also love the rich and detailed background within which your lovely miniatures are placed. It is like looking at a Joan Miro painting with all its colorful and pleasantly distorted points of interests.
Amazing job my friend... Truly amazing!

| Thanks MUCHO for all the kind words, Guys. I'm delighted you are enjoying my creations & took the time to say so...at length. Until such time, if ever, I can start gaming of a competitive sort, I'll do my solo routine & spin little tales in the Woods & Swamp of Spookiness. I hope I continue to keep your interest in the Beasty.

| Thanks, Katsuhiko! I hadn't thought of it as exotic before, but I rather like that description...it's far better than the normal "nuts" it receive. - Dreng Tromm wrote:

...that gives me an idea. As The Road nears the Great Fen I could go to yellow brick, have it lead to the Haunted Tower of the Wizard/Baron of Ooze... OH THE POSSIBILITIES!
