Myfirst question about Mordheim Empty
PostSubject: Myfirst question about Mordheim   Myfirst question about Mordheim Icon_minitimeSun 3 Mar 2013 - 20:10

I've been playing Mordheim for the last 3 or 4 years ( once every few months) and We never really used the underdogs rule because we never had a big difference in our ratings.

We are arguing about the fact that "the underdogs are about the xp bonus you get when you take out of action an enemy from a warband with a higher rating" and "the xp bonus is at the end of a battle for each warband member if they survived".

What is the right application of the rule: when killing an opponent or for surving a battle against a stronger warband?

B is correct. If the list on page 81 in the RB for example grands you +2 XP, every warrior gets 3 XP instead of 1 for surviving the battle. He still only gets +1 XP for every opponent OOA, NOT +3.
The reasons why I beliefe this is right:
1: I have never heard anyone play it the other way around geek
2: the RB only explicitely states surviving a battle as a definite way to get XP. XP for taking someone OOA will only "often affect the experience they gain". So an underdog bonus for OOA would be useless if you don't get any bonuses for taking someone OOA.

So, I was right.
Great, Thanks. Wink

My friend was trying to convince me the underdogs bonus is only given when you kill anenemy, as you said, the bonus is for surviving against a stronger wanband than yours.

In the book it's not clear enough
"When a warband fights against an enemy warband with a higher rating, its warriors earn extra Experience points as shown on the table below. The higher the opposing warband’s rating the more points the underdog earns."

Even in the French version my friend is using it's not clear enough ( for him)

In anyways, Thanks and I will get my bonus xp asap Wink
