| I think the 40mm bases make these a little too big to be used for warhounds. Reaper has some models worth looking into, http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/dog/latest/03326 but I use the original dogs I got when starting Mordheim. I wil be watching this to see what others say, as I would like more options fro warhounds for upcoming roster sheets. | |

| I think PFT is right, they are a little big for a warhound. If I am not wrong, the warhounds you can buy as equipment, as well as those that come with the Witch Hunters, are supposed to go on standard 20mm bases, while the 40K wolves would go onto cavalry bases, like dire wolves, wolves, and Chaos warhounds. | |

| Yeah, I use the Witch Hunter warhounds for my rosters. Unfortunately, I only have two models. Need to find some more. Look for non 40mm base hounds. | |

| We have 4 warbands using 'warhounds' in our current campaign, one is using the original warhounds from the witch hunter warband, the other three are using GW wolves, dire wolves and a reaper lion. No one has complained. What you use is up to you. | |

| Try sargeant major miniatures, they do metal warhounds that work well on a 20 mm base. | |

| In my Undead warband I've used Chaos Warhounds to represent Dire Wolves, but they look a bit "decayed" and they're on cavalry bases, so I suppose this is not what you want? | |

| Thanks all, i am playing beastmen so i need something to represent chaos warhounds to, but my personal opinion is that gw´s chaos hounds are very ugly, so thought about getting like 2 goblin wolfs and convert some wolf with a couple of faul beast items like horns from beastygors. and i will play mercinarys to and thought about buying the bear mascote to represent a warhound/ pet as it says in the rulebook, a warhound or something more exotic like fighting monkey or bear, well not that exact words | |

Having the Bear in the warband had me thinking, "What if it was a momma bear? She needs cubs!" So, there are 4 cubs in wait, in case I need warhound models...

| Farmer Maggot's hounds are, in my opinion, too small for S4 warhounds. Check it out for yourself with a 28mm Artizan pirate for scale: | |

| Hmmm. That hound looks 'in scale' with that pirate.
@Fly--I think that's a Ralpartha Hellhound thingy from the Crucible range.

| It's not too bad, but I prefer my warhounds to be beefier to reflect their S4 stat and because I imagine them as Rottweiler size or larger. | |

| I really don't see an issue with using the fenrisian wolves. They are bigger than the mordheim dogs, but they can still be mounted on a 28mm base. You will probably need to add counterweight to the base bottom so it doesn't topple over.
Is the Gobo Wolf smaller than the fenrisian?

| I decided to grab some Fell Wargs for my war puppies (replacing my Cave Squigs), they just look cool even thought they're a bit big. I'm about to paint them up but almost everyone that has brought war puppies has them on Calvary bases. | |

| The hounds that come with Orion, King of the Woods would be pretty great for Witch Hunters. | |
