| Hey guys! lately ive been working on another model. At the moment im working on it in 3D, will get it printed, Greenstuff the details, and hopefully get it casted and sold by Troll Forged Miniatures. This is the model That's the WiP. The mount itself is 3 part (left, right, head) The rider is 4 part (body, Left Arm, Right Arm, Head). Obviously it isnt finished yet. Im planning to add fur, a cloak and some details with Greenstuff. I need some suggestions though. -What to do with his left hand? what should it hold or be doing? -what kind of cloak should it become? I personally really want to go for a cloak covering his shoulders, but should that be a seperate bit? or should I attach it to something? general comments and criticismn is ofcourse very much appreciated aswell! Hope you like it, and please dont hold back Thanks a lot in advance, Matt _________________ ..and by a roll of the dice you go under..

| It's not a bad idea; as a Goblin Guy, I like wolves, preferably big, nasties, as mounts. That said, I think the right arm is at an unnatural angle; if he's going to wield a large weapon (not a good idea for a mounted person) it would look better being held in both hands. If you go for a one handed weapon, the off hand could be holding a shield or nothing at all; in either case, it should be grasping some reins or harness. That's my 2 cents worth. | |

| yea, found out it's redicilously hard to make 2handed weapons that look natural and are still castable, though :p so I tried to make it look as if it's a 2h weapon, but since he's not in combat, he shows it off holding it in one hand. I was thinking of making his left hand grabbing some fur, to hold on. But if you have nice ideas, i'd love to hear them ofcourse. I could still change the weapon around a bit, but I need some proper weapon inspiration! _________________ ..and by a roll of the dice you go under..

| I would imagine the Beasty is guided with the rider's knees rather than a bridal; so instead of holding reins maybe a harness under the forelegs would give hi something to grasp. How about putting him in a casual pose with the butt of the weapon resting on his right foot or thigh & this left fist balled & resting on his left hip...haughty expression optional? Having a load load gear strapped to the critter would be cool. | |

| is this what you imagined with his axe Alan? is it better? and what kind of gear strapped to the mount? and in what manner? Thanks a lot in advance _________________ ..and by a roll of the dice you go under..

| Move the Axe butt up slightly so it's resting on his upper leg, & put the left fist on his waist with the back of the hand facing forward. With the extra paraphernalia: a couple of saddle bags, blanket roll, keg, extra weapons, etc strapped behind the saddle to give the impression that he's a wanderer who lives in the saddle...kind of. | |

| again just changed the right arm. Adjusted the axe slightly to make it look more like a bastard-axe (is that something? anyways, an axe that can be used by either 1 or 2 hands :p) Is this what you meant? also love the idea of the pouches and all, will add that with greenstuff though. _________________ ..and by a roll of the dice you go under..

| I get the idea on the axe; like a bastard sword...can be used one or two handed as the hilt is extended further than a normal long sword. Move the left hand up to the waist, & turn his head so he's looking (with distain) to his left (i.e., away from the axe). I'm glad you like the baggage idea; think about the way a Questing Knight's steed looks. | |

| well, like I said before, it's multipart. The head can be turned however you want it I am thinking of how the baggage will interact with the cloak though, im not completely sure yet. but your preference goes to the last (bastard) axe? _________________ ..and by a roll of the dice you go under..

| I like the axe; i.e., it's looks like it could be used by a rider. The multi-part thingy gives the modeler an opportunity to pose the mini to his/her tastes; that's a nice concept. If I had to choose between the cape & the baggage, I'd take the baggage; re, it adds more to the overall appearance & character of the piece...& cloaks/capes are a pain when you have to pick out details behind them. | |

| I think Im putting on the baggage, and ill just put the cloak 'next' to it, as if he didnt care so much about his cloak's posistioning when he mounted the beast. That's because I think any proper Questing Knight, no matter his or her alliegance, needs a cloak :p _________________ ..and by a roll of the dice you go under..

| Thinking about the cloak; you could drape it over the left arm like a Hungarian Hussar...in the 13th Century the pelisse (cape) would be a fur. | |

| just a little update (no pics though).
Im still waiting for the model to be delivered. There were some minor errors (inverted some vertices..) but I fixed those, and it should be delivered soon. in tthe meanwhile I've been working on two more models.
-A mushroom assassin/warrior. He's almost finished and Ill upload some pictures of him soon. Completely sculped with greenstuff. Its a 6 part model, standing a little taller than the average 28mm miniature. The 5 parts are his body, his cap, his face, 2 arms and a base.
-A were-hyena. Wanted to try something that's seen less. This one is mostly an armature atm, began sculpting his head though. Im not sure in how many pieces I should break him down yet.
Just wanted to let you guys know im still working on it!
Matt

This is the pic I sent back to the printer. 1 is the broken down model. 2 is partially assembled 3 and 4 is what it's supossed to look like 5 is the 'sprue' I printed. off to adjust, and reprint! _________________ ..and by a roll of the dice you go under..

| After a small break (read; vacation) Im back to sculpting. Im working on a pack of 3 were-hyenas (or wolves, not completely decided yet) and I've almost finished my take on a corrupted mushroom. Pictures are probably more interresting, so those are right down here Please do give comments and critiscism, for it is greatly appreciated! Matt Edit: I forgot to mention, after taking these pictures Ive added a tongue and an inside to the mushrooms mouth, aswell as some proper feet and fingers to one were-beast and feat and more of a shirt to another. I've also started the armature on the last one! _________________ ..and by a roll of the dice you go under..

| Love the Mushroom!
The were creature(s) seems a bit thick in the limbs for my taste. Overall your work shows great promise so keep going. | |

| Really liked the pose of the right arm, always loved more "casual looks" to minis than the usual swinging sword thingy. Looks like youve got the proportions pretty accurate as well! I might have missed it, but what kind of mini is it your making? Chaos, norse, human? | |

| oh wow, didnt expect any replies here anymore!
first of, thanks a lot! I kinda put this guy on hold, seeing that I just started school and Im learning to work in different 3d programs. but right now, im actually tempted to start it up again! Its pretty much a 'Wandering Knight', with a slight chaos/norse influence. A hired sword, so to speak. _________________ ..and by a roll of the dice you go under..

| this one was made in Blender (freeware). Im now learning to use Maya and 3Ds Max. Im not sure yet wheter I want to fix it up in Blender, print again, and fix in greenstuff, or just restart it entirely in Maya or something. Thanks a lot for the encouragement! _________________ ..and by a roll of the dice you go under..

| Another long overdue update. As I said before, Im learning 3ds Max and Maya at the moment, so its pretty hard to make solid models so far. I have, however, been working on my next 3d print project. and what better way is there to start learning a program than making an orc!? is what Ive been working on so far. Im completely going to restart it though. This is the new concept art. I am completely open for suggestions! obviously it doesnt have arms yet :p I've been running into a few problems so far (mostly with too many vertices thanks to Displacement Maps for the people familiar with the program). But I think Im going to make it piece before piece, Boolean it together, and print it after that. hope you enjoy! comments and criticism is always welcome! _________________ ..and by a roll of the dice you go under..

| Looking good so far man! Nice to see some more stuff One thought thou, if you dont mind.. Looking at the sketch, is he hunched forward? If not, I think you should make his upper body a bit longer. But thats just my opinion of orc anatomy, with a huge upper body and stumpy little legs. I love how the 3d face almost has a Warcraft orc feel to i tho | |

| Of course as far as the Max & Maya thing goes, I have no idea what you're talking about. From my benighted, low tech perspective, it all seems very Sci Fi. However when you get to the concept sketch, we're suddenly speaking the same language; I'd go for a less stooped over & bow legged look; re, those are hallmarks of G.W's Orc(k)s...make it your own, not a G.W. clone. De-emphasize his teeth; re, they are dominating his face eliminating any expression. I'm not sure where you're going with his garb/armor..it looks rather Chaos. I'll come up with other ideas once I'm on my second cup of coffee. Note: 9forsgren sent his ideas while I was typing mine. The similarities are coincidental...it's a Great Minds thingy. | |
