Dunbrough and Gripenhem WIP log

A few more bits for the crane. I made a cargo net with a turnbuckle, for hauling goods up and down the crane. Also a pair of pole hooks for grabbing the line as it comes up and pulling it in. The net is cut from a minnow net. The turnbuckle is a jewelry piece. The hooks are earring hooks, on thin copper tubing.

Pure genius! One of these will appear at a harbor soonish.

OOH! That is COOL, but in a town made of rocks a cobbler is still a necessity. GREAT WORK!  

More cranes means fewer people carrying cargo up and down the stairs and across the roads, which means less shoe leather being worn away, which means less work for cobblers! The Cranesmen Union had best watch out for the Cobbler's Guild!

The coopers guild is doing well though!

They are a productive crew. GREAT LOOKING additions to The Project!

Base coat is down on the island. The pictures will help me find spots that I missed. I’ve got a few colors that I wanted to try, so I’ll be doing a little more base coating before moving on to drybrush.

LOOKIN' suitably RUGGED! The rock face is SPLENDID! GREAT WORK!  
One of the things you can count on from a camera is highlighting every little mistake; finding a use for this tendency is an useful, redeemable quality that hadn't occurred to moi.  

Some painting updates. Base coat is Valspar Weathered Plank. Drybrush C&K Casual Khaki, Citadel Goblin Green, Folk Art Steel Grey, and a wash of some watered down brown.

There doesn't seem to be much contrast...camera wash out perhaps, but that is a SPECTACULAR view!

No problemo! Constructive criticism is hard to come by. I think I'm gonna hit the highs with steel grey, and wash in black ink near the base.

I finally got the porch on the Hunting Lodge built and painted up.

Test piece for water stuff, since I haven’t ever modeled waterfalls before. I’m also testing the paint scheme for water. I’ll have some large deep areas, so I was testing those on here as well. Doesn’t look quite so dark in person.

LOOKIN' GOOD! Water effects are for the most part something I try to avoid...like The Plague. The colors are GORGEOUS...GREAT WORK!

I think that having the water that dark would be wonderful, but I like deep blues.
