Last year was my Pirate year, where I had sold off all of my Warhammer Fantasy Battle armies to free up funds for Pirate armies and crews.
And, just like my thread with all of my Piratey scenery, here you'll find all of the Pirate figurines I finished in a years' span.
First off, the game that lured me into the ever expanding trap of pirate figurins, some Freebooters' Fate pirates (enough for a crew of 500 dubloons)
After those, I bought a full crew of Pirate Lasses from Black Scorpion, and I use them for the Cutlass! game, in Legends of the High Seas and they can also be used for Sartose
Group-hug
Next up (these took me quite some time to finish) a Mercenary Pirate force for Warmachine
If someone wants to ogle closer-up piccies of individual figs, just shout out eh!
In an obscure webshop, I found figs for Davy Jones and some of his crewmembers
These can be handy for an undead pirate crew for Sartosa or Cutlass! games
Then I found a fig for Hook and Tick-Tock
And I expanded my Warmachine Mercenaries a wee bit further
And having painted about everything available in a Phinneas Shae armylist, I expanded my horizon to less alive Warmachine Pirates : Cryx
And that's all for now Hope you like them!

Very cool collection!
I'd love to see a few close-ups of the non-roboty Warmachine pirates - the human pirates, guns crews and artillery.
Have you got any plans to get some of the Black Scorpion fantasy pirates (the dwarfs, orcs, goblins, elves, undead, etc.)?

Sure!
Here are the Sea Dogs :
My Pressgangers
Some Solos
And the Cap'n
Small cannon
And the big one
And yes, I have bought the entire Black Scorpion undead pirate crew, to complement my Davy Jones + Henchmen At the moment I am waiting for my bases : I have made a set of five and I've sent 'm out to be casted

Actually, it's quite scary how many Pirate figs there are out there! I know I've got more unpainted Pirates in my pirate-bitzbox than I've got painted ones, and the amount of wanna-wanna-wanna buy but swmbo won't let me buy because I've got enough of them is humongous!

That is a VERY IMPRESSIVE collection of Pirate pieces...you don't do things by half I see. All the Lads/Lasses/Thingys are VERY WELL painted & based...adds to the impressive bit. Keep us updated as things develop.
With all the different rule sets you've mentioned, do you have a favorite?

A favourite system?
Well, I do like Warmachine, especially in MKII But as for the pure pirate games, Freebooters’ Fate is lots of fun, especially with their system to hit/wound opponents, which is kind of a mindgame of you vs your opponent. You want to choose the places that do most damage, but most likely the opponent will defend them, or will he? Also, it is a very ‘realistic’ game, no overpowered figs, all very human-like, and you have to outwit your opponents, and the scenarios are very much fun.
Legends of the Highs seas is lots of fun too…
Haven’t tried Cutlass! Rules yet, as they are heavily campaign-axed, and I’d need to find opponents that are willing to commit themselves then.
And Sartosa, well, who doesn’t like Mordheim? And it’s got pirates to boot!

-So that's it, then? That's the secret, grand adventure of the infamous Jack Sparrow. You spent three days lying on a beach drinking rum. -Welcome to the Caribbean, love.
I can't wait to play him in a game where I'll also be using Davy Jones and his henchmen. Will have to paint up a bunch of skeletal pirates first though

It is a nicely painted & based mini & most deserving of a WELL DONE! Any critiques I might offer would be made questionable by my fondness for brighter colors.

And two more pirates :
One for my Cryx army : Skarlock Thrall :
And an Ogre Maneater, Bob the Paunch (named after the fella who gave him to me) :

VERY COOL STUFF! I love the Steampunk Cryx look & you did some FINE brushwork bringing the piece to (un)life. Bob looks good...especially the striped trousers. VERY WELL DONE!

Cheers!
Which are your favourite? The Mercenary bases or the Cryx ones?
Both are about equally work-intensive to make, so I'd be happy for feedback on which ones are most popular.
Will be entering in a Warmachine torni here in Belgium this weekend with the Mercenaries by the way, they should score quite well on thepainting points, which should give me the equivalent of a win in pints

Since you asked, I would say the Mercenary bases are more impressive; re, I like the water effect & the raised platform. Of course, there isn't as much of the Cryx base visible for an objective comparison.

Thanks for the feedback!
In the meantime, I have painted up a couple of the Ron 'n Bones Pirates that I received for my birthday :
And this guy is (wild guess) compensating for something...

Your thoughtful Birthday Gifts painted up TERRIFIC. The Ron & Bones minis may be a bit pricey, but they are the COOLEST of Pirates...you did a FINE job bringing them to life. WELL DONE!

I painted up some male Pirates to give some support in those areas where my Pirate Lasses are lacking.
So, 3 guys whom'll add some much needed ranged ouchy to my Pirate crew. They are form the Crusader Miniatures company
Then, a non-combattant : a navigater, so at least my Pirate Girrrls will be able to find their way to the treasure island He's a fig representing Mercator , a Belgian cartographer from the 16th century, handed out as a freebie at a fig-fair.
And finally, my very first civilian, because somewhen in the future, I will be playing a resque the girl scenario, I give you... the Damsel in Distress :
Seen from the fig-perv perspective
She is a Descent fig, named 'Lady Eliza Farrow' Now she's a wee bit smaller than your average 28mm fig, but that's just fine, that way she can represent a gov'nors teenage daughter purrfectly.
Why is she drinking? Well, what would you do if during your teens you'd have been abducted by pirates and locked away in their Rum cellar? Well?

AAARRRGGH!...translation: VERY COOL STUFF! The Pirate Lads have wisely opted for ranged weaponry to avoid the Wenches with swords. All are FINELY painted & based. VERY WELL DONE!

And finally real life has permitted me to spend a couple of evenings a-painting...
So I grabbed my Confrontation Gobbos I scored a couple of months ago... Here's what they looked like when I bought them :
That wouldn't do at all, so I set to repaint them. As an 'experiment' I decided not to remove the paint, but I started out from the current paintjob, adding highlights and shades to see if it would turn out half-decent. Amongst other problems, it forced me into colour-choices I wouldn't normally choose and I just had to make 'm work... I'll let you guys be the judge (even though I must say I loike the results myself)
And the 'new' group shot

The Lads Large & Small are virtually unrecognizable from their original paint job. That is a REMARKABLE improvement. GREAT WORK!
