| So after thinking about it for a while I decided to start Reiklander mercenaries. I assembled the starting warband of ten models in one night out of Men-at-Arms, State troopers and greatswords: Warrior, champion, captain, champion, warrior (sorry for the image quality, I took these in a hurry) Youngblood, 3 marksmen and a youngblood Ran out of empire bits, tried to make the bodies look a bit different with plate armour (left) and chainmail (right) I'm gonna start painting these today. one of the warriors got promoted to hero, I was thinking of giving him some new equipment and using one of those greenstuffed minis for him. | |

| Really nice, I'm going a similar way with using the plastic empire kits. I really like the poses of the models, one burning question though, that awesome brickwork using greenstuff, how? | |

So stuff I used: Green stuff Craft knife and/or scalpel Lubricant So I was building these models with nothing but my green stuff, plastic glue, knifes and bits at my friend's house, and I wanted something for the bases I rolled some greenstuff, put the ball on the base, flattened it with the craft knife, and started making rows with the flat edge. Then I took the scalpel (any small knife will do probably) and made the smaller cuts to make tiles, and then finally I cut some off to give it that broken down look. I will add citadel texture paints on the bases after painting. | |

| A few pictures, first the plate armoured dude progress: put on some basecoat to see how much I'm gonna need to smooth the greenstuff. Seems like I'll have to borrow a file. And a test painted youngblood. Had to get some white in there somewhere since these guys are Reiklanders after all. | |

| The Lads are coming along quite nicely. I like what your doing with the Young Blood; with that mustache it looks like he should be saying things like: "your Mother was a hamster & your Father smells of elderberries." GOOD WORK! | |

| I really really really really like these models! you chose some of the best plastic bits to bash with those bretonnians fit mordheim really well. Does the head with the big moustache come with the bretonnian men-at arms? | |

| I'm a pretty slow painter, hah. These minis look much better in real life but here's Warrior number one (I have to think of names for these guys soon): I tried to paint him similarly to the drummer in the GW's site (men-at-arms) but it didn't really go that well. Tomorrow I should get some more empire bits so I can keep on converting. Also I have to say the citadel texture paints are a bit of a letdown. And then just some fences I painted up: | |

| Don't think of it as slow; it's just savoring the moment. Slow or fast the new Lad turned out quite nicely...an expressive face, he looks ticked off. WELL DONE! | |

| Update time! Youngblood number two: I don't really like youngbloods, if I can get a marksman or another warrior to hero one of these guys gets the boot. If it's allowed in the rules. Spearman (warrior): Either a very odd pauldron or a buckler. Might add to my warband later. I made a new figure for the warrior who got promoted to hero: And this dude, whose equipment I don't know yet And the pile of bits I got from a friend: I've got two men-at-arms bodies left. (taking good pictures of many small things at once is pretty hard) | |
