| Here I have toutched up the mortar lines in the brick work. And here is my home-made piano and bench next to an ale keg. I am happy enough with it. I think it will look cool. Now I have some bits to build and a lot of bits to paint up for my clutter/lived in look. | |

| Progress on the building. The weathering is a bit over done but it is done. Now I just have to detail the insides. I painted up about 95 things today, many of which will go inside here. DeafNala: - Quote :

Well, my monkeys are already based but here is a piano player for you. He should look pretty cool when he is inside.

| Here we go... I think I am done with this one. Maybe a sign for when I figure out what to call it. Until then here is the Officer Club, and residence. Colonel Stubbs, commanding. Col. Stubbs's room. The 2nd floor for his junior officers... The ground floor in a bit. Must go eat. My wife normally only cooks once a month and tonight is the third time. I cannot be late for this! | |

| Ground floor. Of course featuring the piano player. Wall picture added Wish I still had some of those slabs of meat from Ogre Kingdoms. They would go good in the kitchen. As you can see, I have cluttered the insides up to look lived in but also left room for warbands to run around inside. That is really some of the hardest part when doing buildings. OK, that's it. If I would do anything else it will be to add a few signs, wated posters, etc. And, the kitchen could really use some wall shelves. Don't hold your bereath. | |

| That is a fantastic looking building.
Quite apart from all the details you have added, the whole structure looks like it would be awesome to game on. And the fact that you suffer for your art makes it even better!

| If you squint, and look at the pictures at the pictures taken at a models' height, you *almost* can't tell its a model - it looks like a life size period set at a movie shoot or something. Fantastic work! Keep going mate! Make 20 more buildings like this! | |

| Thanks all for the praise! And here we go again. This is not on my schedule but I wanted to do another average style building. I got the idea from the Miniature Housing Authority. Mine will be a little bit bigger since MBA builds for a small 25mm and most of Mordheim seems to be either heroic 25mm or 28mm scale. http://www.miniaturebuildingauthority.com/proddetail.asp?prod=10618Here is the basic framework for the Harbor Watch building. Then I added a small office for the Harbor Master. And then the framework to hold the roof tiles. It pays to have a hot-wire table to cut foam chunks. I can already see that I will need to build some furniture to put in here. | |

Oooh, I'd love to see a chart table with a big map of the harbour rolled out on it, with the corners pinned down by rum bottles and pistols.

| That's a pretty swanky Harbor Master's digs... VERY COOL. The only Harbor Master's I became familiar with was a clapboard , two story shack replete with a widow's walk. The place was a mass of rolled up charts & had an atmosphere than was mostly composed of pipe tobacco & salt...the Harbor Master matched his surroundings perfectly. | |

I agree and have already planned to do that. Oh, yeah. - Quote :

No no, his ofice is the little corner room. It's the best they could do for him. It is a shame that I cannot make it smoky in there for true atrmosphere but I will do my best to make it cluttered and a bit run down but still have room for movement. Tall order.

| Some roof tiles and a skim coat of plaster makes a big change. The tower's wooden window columns I am giong to paint not stain; either way, I will scrape the plaster off of them first (after it dries). | |

Oh Von Kirst! Do you want me to stop? OK, with that ugliness over here is the base coat. The O Scale Spanish Roof Tiles have been spray painted car primer red. And here it is back to light color. Now comes the weathering and the time consuming task of building things to go inside. Might take a while.

| I found that painting small things with bandages on your off hand is VERY hard to do. After painting aroud 200 bits for now and future use, I am officially tired of messing with the Harbor Watch building. Here are the final pictures. Because things that stick out get broken off, I magnetised the door lanterns and the telescope. Not at all happy with the hunk of metal I put on the tower to stick the telescope onto. My weathering makes it look even worse. If I did this again, I would imbed the metal into the window opening intead of sticking it on the outside. The tower ladder was a chalenge on how to construct it. It had to be sturdy yet allow for the tower to move on and off. The Harbor Master's door would have been better centered in the wall. As it is, his desk ended up being in the way no matter where I put it. And window shots of my wide popsicle stick bookcases. That's all folks. Yea, I'm done. | |
