Gewaltatron's Carnival of Chaos (Pic Heavy)

Hi there,

I was lurking around at this forum for quite some time and since I recovered my warband recently, I thought to give it a shot and share it with you guys.

Two years or so ago I started my carnival of chaos warband but I never finished it. Therefore some models are completed and some are partially painted and some are something in between.

I will try to show my finished work and also show my current WIP, although it might lack some regularity in the updates and interest

As with every CoC band I need some nurglings, these guys where actually the first band members I painted





These little fellows are called Cazpar, Melkhior and Balthazar and Jo.

Next are the two brethren : The brothers scab ( Gebrueder Schorf )

















One is a 'talented' fire-eater and his brother is responsible for his 'safety.
(Both are equipped with clubs or maybe a torch. The bucket may later be considered as a shield)

Then there is the talented Ingatius aka Ignaz. Who believes to be one of the strongest men in the empire (guessing from his pose). In our first campaign he became a hero and therefore I bought him a pistol.








The last finished brethren is, Franz the humped.









Then there is my first brute, Kyros. He was a present from the lands of arabia and was used as an exotic attraction until the carnival master recognized that he seems to be immune to his nurgle 'gifts' and that he is actually really good in killing people... which is quiet useful in Mordheim.












Then there is my second brute. It is WIP and has no name yet. As one can see he is not NOT immune to Nurgles gifts and indeed he is heavily crippled.. I mean gifted.. His right arm is necrotic, while his left one is gigantic. His face is deformed to such an extent that he wears a bag over his head. Bumps filled with cheesy pus are all over his body.















(This is still WIP, need to finish the head)

Sadly, I have no Tainted ones finished but one is almost ready to paint. It is the Jester. He is as well a WIP and I need to finish some details before I can start to paint him.











Since he is supposed to have bloated foulness, I tried to make him look like his lower body is lacerated and he is now moving on his guts, tentacles, ... Still I have to add some maggots and to work on some details.

Last but not least is the only 'female' member of my warband, the plague bearer Tranny. Her role in the band is not to be discussed here in details...




















Unfortunately I have no second tainted one and no master yet. When we have been playing I used other models to represent them. But I am looking forward to finish my warband in the next months... to be continued.

Hey! First of all - great minis! Your scratchbuild stuff is ace, the paintjob is very well done and even the minis with comparatively little conversion have a lot of character.
But most of all - CCAA? You are from cologne? Do you already have a gaming group or are you looking for one?

CCAA, yes I am from cologne I don't have an actual gaming group. mine is inactive and quite unreliable. So yes, I am looking for one.

OH BABY! VERY COOL STUFF!...there that about says it all.
Ignaz reminds moi of Terry Pratchett's Cohen the Barbarian...that's a real plus. Great conversions & lovely paint jobs...what more could anyone want other than more? WONDERFULLY WELL DONE!

wow mister gewalt, thats what i call a gewaltiger Auftritt, great scratch build stuff, and not to forget about those superb painted minis, awesome paintjob, like the way you painted their skin and buboes!

That is an amazing warband. I hope to see more of them soon.

Pretty amazing work and painting skills. I espescially like your way of painting the skin of your models, it looks comic-like and realistic at the same time! And your "Baghead" is just disgustingly wonderful!

Possibly the most disturbing looking carnival warband I've seen. You've really captured the atmosphere of the fluff in your painting.
Veins, bruises and whatnot are looking very realistic, this shows extremely well in the female member of the gang.

first off: THX to everybody for the comments, I really appreciate! And I take disturbing as a compliment

and special greetings to the guys from cologne. this really seems to be a small world !

since I have not so much time for painting these days, I focus on small sculpting/converting parts that have to be done anyway.

I have finished sculpting the base for the tainted one and put him on it. Also added some maggots and slime/gore. Overall not a big update.



I also made a base for the second brute. The base is still missing some details.





Also I would like to introduce a new (yet unfinished) member of the band. I was experimenting some weeks ago and sculpted his belly and added some mass to his head to make this guy look fatter or swollen up. Today I added his "humpback", which I plan to make a bit more detailed.
This guy is supposed to be something like a retarded butcher's son or something...









as usual I am happy about any kind of C&C. now its curing time

You are The Master of the Grotesque...GREAT...if somewhat disgusting...ADDITIONS! I love the Idiot Butcher...funny thing is he reminds me of a friend who has a Phd. WONDERFULLY HORRIFYING WORK!

oh, wow! what a talent you have for painting! i loved them all, especially the gimped strongman!

wish i could paint like that, i just bought a skaven army and its not as easy to paint as i would have thought.

Here is a small update on the butcher, his humpback has deformed even more and there is now 'something' growing on his back! He also has a base











And he is already primed and ready to be painted. (Indeed I worked on the skin but still have not finished, and will show pictures when he is finished)

Hi everybody,

I don't have much time these days but I would like to keep you updated. Therefore I have some WIP pictures of the Butcher. The 'socks', shoes and Base still have to be finished. But I am struggling a little bit with the socks/wraps around his ankles.

The Butcher is looking TERRIFICALLY GHASTLY...true to his nature. The skin tones look fantastic & I love his eyes. The rust effect on the blades is OUTSTANDING. You've made the most of your available time...FINE WORK!

I just stumbled upon this thread. I really love some of your sculpting and conversions. They really go "outside the box." I like the jester. Kind of makes me want to build a Carnival myself...
