Need Gobbo Theme.

I want to in time create a Gobbo army and use bits of it for a warband. More than that I want it to have a theme. My first thought was Roman inspired (Little Keezar's Legion) but I want to toss around more ideas. No pirates is all I ask.

How about sewer-divers? maybe too close to pirates, but it seems like something goblins would do. hunt for treasure where no one else will

Grave robbing sounds like a goblinoid thing too, but maybe you cant really see on a model that it is a grave robber...

My Red Brotherhood [they took over the local abandoned Monastery...due to the wonderful "brandy" the new Monks were providing, the Locals never picked up that there was anything unusual about the "new order"] are an Entrepreneurial War Band...they manufacture & dispense illicit substances. How about Goblins trying to be more like Empire or Brettonian armies?
Little gaudy uniforms and feathered hats, laurel wreathes and false moustaches?
Some old goblin hag who thinks she is the Lady of the Lake.
Wolf/Spider riders with barding and flying pennons.

Or what about a Goblin circus army.
Squigs with a ringmaster dressed handler.
Goblin Clowns.
Doom Divers could be hanging on trapeze contraptions.
Trolls in place of elephants balancing on barrels.

Of course Pirates are basically just sea-going Highwaymen...SO you could have more traditional Highwaymen:



Since a lot of the Empire torsos, arms, etc. are compatible with the Goblins, you can pretty much recreate any War Band as a Goblin one.

Nothing against pirates just so many already. I think maybe since it is going to be an army maybe I'll do an "ancients" and each regiment will be a different culture. Keezar's Leegun, Gruk Hoopooleetz, Ceelts Breetunz and (Insert Gobbo Persian name here) eemortulz. An Empire Gobbo band would be fun but I'm already working on a Marianburger band.

Northern wintery gobbos! Not X-masinspired, but clad in furs and such could be cool. Would be a lot of work on an army though.

Goblins that think they are Black Orcs.
Steampunk Goblins (in top hats and monocles with a mechanical Troll).
Chaos Mutant Goblins (like the 1980s metal citadel models: extra arms, covered in warts, one leg, winged, hairy).
Brian Froud Goblins (from the movie Labyrinth - including the walking tank and Lizard-rider knights!).
Albion Goblins (covered in blue warpaint)

Steampunk or Clockwork.
Eastern or Mongol-themed.
Fishy underwater types.

I've decided to go with "The ancients" feel. got a 500 pt army mapped out, 1 gobbo big boss (need a theme on him), 1 gobbo shaman (Da Drood, gonna use a night goblin mini with sickle and paint him up like Getafix from Asterix and Obelix), Keezurz Leegun (gobbos with hand weapons, Roman inspired), Da Hoopooleetz (gobbos with spears, ancient greeks with some bits from this set http://www.immortalminiatures.com/page76.html) and Da Farrows Arrows (gobbos with bows, Egyptian archers with some tomb kings bits). I do eventually want to make a gobbo empire style warband but that is way in the future.
