| Is Wyrdstone pronounced 'Word-stone' or 'Wierd-stone'? Wyrd is the norse term often translated as destiny or similar. That is pronounced Wierd.
How do you say it? | |

| For me, Wyrd = weeeeeird.
Although, I'm kinda funky with pronunciations. For Magic the Gathering, I always pronounced Phrexian as "Fie-reex-ian". Worse still, my gamer mates mock me constantly for pronouncing Skaven with a proper British, "A", as in "SkAH-vun", rather than the more American "skeah-vin". It slips out sometimes, with much prodding and jeering each time.

| In Vercuso we call it "Bloodfane shards" or just "treasure" But Wyrdstone is pronounced "Wierd-Stone" here. | |

| In German, they changed it to Morrsstein (Stone of Morr). Of course it's a bit illogical, but at least there are no dificulties in pronounciation Still, I pronounce it as written, or with a sound somewhere between wierd and wyrd leaning towards y | |

You´re such a gentleman! I personally go with y-pronounciation, although I know it's a quite uncommon sound in most of the world's languages, so I think people are well off pronouncing it wierd-stone.

| "Pronounce it as it's spelled." If only it were that easy in English.
Skahven? I recall reading that the name Skaven came to be after some designers saw the band, "Kevin and the Ratmen" playing. The Emcee announced it as, "It'sssssssKevin and the Ratmen," and one of them said, "Skaven."

| Wierd-stone here. And I say Skay-ven. I suppose until GW include pronunciation guides (like White Wolf did for the Tzimisce) then whatever sounds right for you does the job | |

| skaven: A possible origin. I always assumed it was taken from the word "scavengers".
Tzeentch: It's probably wrong, but I say "t-zenith". Don't emphasize the "ch" at all.

| It's weird stone for me. When I think of it said with a "Y" I'm reminded of the interview Steve McLaren ( seen here ) did, the question he answers around the 1min mark makes me smile. On a serious note some national accients lend themselves to different pronounciations so It doesn't really bother me. - Quote :

| There is a pronunciation guide, somewhere (it might actually be in RoC: LatD), that has "Zeench," listed as the pronunciation of Tzeentch.
I'll try to find out where the "Kevin and the Ratmen" thing was, but I believe it was in an issue of Warpstone where they talked to the WFRP designers.

Is it "skyer" (rhymes with flier), "skier" (like the winter recreation), or "sky-ree". I tend to do the latter.
