Oil and Slug Warband

For my Possessed Warband, I wanted to field a nurgle themed warband that is covered in oil and slime. Does anyone have an idea how paint slime and oil?

Also what do you guys think of this model for my Slug-Themed Possessed

No, but I'd start by experimenting with Tamiya clear green, Tamiya clear yellow and Tamiya smoke over the base coats.

Have a look at my painting recipe for my Fimir. There are probably things you could use there.
Lots of washes and earthtones.

I think your concept could work really well.

Alright so instead of a oil/industrial themed chaos army, I've decided to go a plant/bog/fen themed army.

This will be my Magister



These guys will be my Mutants



The Henchmen will be a kit-bash of Empire Soldiers and Wood Elf Dryads with some Green-stuff mushrooms all over them.

What do you guys think of that?

Now you're cooking! As a Fungus Friend...either a '60s thing or a natural result of my Night Goblin leanings..I LOVE your choice of minis. Things are getting interesting in the Swamp.

So searching across the interwebs while listening to Uriah Heep's Rainbow Demon, I found a site that you may or may not be familiar with called Bitsbarn.

I was looking at all the models and I decided to look for some plant bits, mostly mushrooms.

I was able to find these Leaves from the Wood Elf Glade Guard Box (4 for a $1)



I then thought about who would have mushroom bits. I obviously figured it would be Orcs and Goblins, I mean they are BORN from them.

Well I was discouraged for a second, not being able to find anything. But then I looked at the Goblin Fanatic set and found these two bits



and this mushroom in a bottle



Both of these bits are .50 cents each which is pretty good deal I suppose, I mean I will only need a small bit of them maybe 6 of the mushrooms and 2-3 of the vials.


So, I was talking to my friend about this idea and he suggested using Carnival of Chaos, I mean why not? They are an official warband that is 100% Nurgle. After looking over the rules, spells, and equipment I decided that it was an epic army and it wouldn't be very hard to change my original idea to it.

So now here is my new Warband

Mushroom King - Carnival Master

Swamp Beast - Brute ( I guess I will have to get a second beast)

Mushroom Men - Tainted Ones

Then I would still use the same Idea for Brethern, Empire and Dryad kit bashing.

As for Plague Bearers and Nurglings I am thinking of using Toads or other Swamp animals to count as them.

Man, I wish Forgeworld was more affordable, they have exactly what I want for my Plague Bearers



Nothing like a bunch of Nurgle toads hopping about.

I guess the hunt continues!


I have also decided to just use Nurglings for Nurglings, its not that creative but it works until I find something else.
