Thanks, Joao. I've been progressively doing more blending of colors on large areas with deep undercuts; I'm glad you like the results. Like most of my photos, the lighting is a matter of playing around with positioning the lamp & the piece until it looks reasonably good. It's a very random process; as with the colors, I'm delight to hear you like the results.

The latest additions are the Evil Doers Faerie Familiar (from Reaper) & the Vampiric Person's Flunky (from Masquerade)...I'll bet you can tell which is which, but I'll identify them to be sure:
The Faerie Familiar:
The Funky Flunky:
Comments & critiques would be WILDLY appreciated.

Your painting style is so cool! Each piece definitely has this other-worldly look to it with a slightly-skewed approach, like something out of a little kids' bad dream. Honestly, it kinda reminds me of Brian Froud's artwork. Keep the pics coming!

Thanks Spectre...glad you like my style. While my pieces often lack the realism of more gifted Folk, they do have a certain strange charm all their own.

What fun figures! In a creepy sort of way...
I like how the candles' glow seems to be reflected in the surrounding scenery.

Thanks, Amigo...glad you like them. They do have a creepy sort of charm. The Faerie Fiend brings to mind a Tim Burton character.

I would like to say the lighting effect was carefully orchestrated. However, the truth is it was pure dumb luck...proving God takes care of Fools, Drunks, & Little Children.

The eyes of the familiar look a bit off, but other than that a wonderful piece! The flunky though, is really good! Lots of character, and very good colour scheme!

Thanks for the positive feedback, folketsfiende! You're right about the eyes, but I rather like them a bit off...it's part of her charm.

And here's YET MORE strange spookiness in the form of West Winds Cats by Blows. Theses are either Genetic Experiments or Werecats...avoiding the obvious pun, they're not talking.
The Black Cat:
Tabby the Grey:
Miss Kitty:
Group Portrait:
Comments of varying types would be most welcome.

I like them a lot!
Your style has a certain in-your-face-ishness (both painting and basing) which really appeals to me.
And Westwind figs are always cool
Oh, and Funky Flunky reminds me of riff-raff

Thanks for the kind commentary, Quase. I'm glad you like my style...such as it is. I've become quite fond of West Winds creations. They're new line, Empire of the Dead, look terrific...hopefully Old Glory will carry it someday.

Ohhh! Kitties! The spooky forest is getting more aggressive. Good to see so much completed work.

Thanks, Amigo! I'm starting to make a hole in the backlog of West Wind minis; that means I can order more...OH BABY! At any rate, The Dogs by Blow should be up next followed closely by the Evil Doer Hunters...who is hunting whom is debatable.

It does fit in with the direction I'm going. Some of the West Wind & Wyrd minis have a "Life is a Cabaret from Hell" feel to them...not to mention the Horror Circus.

The kitties are weird in just the right way. Time for an impressive overview pic me thinks!

Thanks, folketsfiende. I agree that the Cat Thingies are weird or, at the least, bizarre...it says something about The Project that "weird" can be considered a compliment.
Some Group Shots is a fine idea...it would give us all a better idea where, if anywhere, this is all going. It also might get me moving on the boards. At the moment I'm working on The Dogs; so may be after that...or after the Circus, but soon.

Since you insisted, I took some ASTOUNDINGLY MEDIOCRE photos of the Massed Horde Thus Far. There are a quite few pieces left out due to lack of space. I also found a number of pieces that I've yet to take individual photos of. All of that aside, HERE THEY ARE:
From a Distance & Out of Focus:
Heeps Place off in the distance:
Full Frontal:
The View from Heep's:
There you have a vague idea where I'm going...probably clearer than my own idea.

Thanks, V.K.. Funny thing is the photos only show a portion of the stuff. I figure about 1/4 of the terrain is shown. AND I can only guess how many minis are left to be photographed...the number grows daily.

Loving the patio at Heaps! Its got a nice view of the forest.
It also provides a fine field of fire...considering the Beasties wandering around below, this is a real plus.
