SerialMoMs Hired Swords and villains collection

In this thread i start to post all the minis i use as dogs of war or villian in our games:

So here are the first ones:

Hired Swords:

Two warlocks: Grey seer and one further model:





two halflings (they die so often, so i need some variety)

Altogether 4 different ogres:

Nice mix of some VERY COOL minis...the Living Impaired Ogre is my favorite of the group. All VERY WELL DONE!

The Merchant and bodyguard where are they from?
I've looked for good Roman looking characters like the bodyguard but I seem to find large number of units and few characters. Or Character models that don't lend themselves to being equipped in interesting ways. Always thought of a "Roman" band of Mercs. Marienbergers or Reiklanders.

Either way, I LOVE everything. Working on a Truthsayer as a Warlock myself. I've got the Dark Emissary to use as a Chaos Magister.

the dark emissary as cjaos magister fits really well!

I use him as seer for my BtB marauders.

The merchant is a current special model from GW.

He comes with a scribe in a blister.

I bought the roman gladiator some years ago.

It could be a model from wargames foundry, but i am not sure.

I do like the gladiators, but I actually want an Imperial warband with Praetorians, Centurions and Auxillari those I cannot find except in regiment boxes or units that weren't really characters.

Very nice brush work! You have a great collection of well painted miniatures. I am glad to see the Road Warden as well, since we have several in our campaign at the moment.

I think this model is also suitable as priest of Morr.

Maybe i will model a face in the hood someday, but currently i think i am not good enough.

Oh, I always had an eye out for that figure when it was new. Never bothered ordering it, I wanted to find it in a store. Never did though.

I think its fine without a face. It makes the figure more menacing.

That's one of Citadel's cooler minis; I got to do him up a couple of times...a FUN mini to paint. You did an EXCELLENT job bringing him to life...such as it is. VERY WELL DONE!
I agree with Von Kurst; he look MUCH MORE menacing sans face.

Still your latest addition, amethyst wizard, is the best of the bunch IMO.
Not only your painting really suits him, but the sculpt is timeless. Real classic.

The sculpt of this original "chaos wizard" is really a beauty.

I only modified one finger.

Additionaly I was able to win an auction with the freelancer, so he will be one of the next minis i paint.

And i won a real beauty of a bard mini, so i will choose the next mini spontaneously.

I have not painted the freelancer yet but i finished my paint job on three tomb guardians for my next game within the Khemri setting:

Are you building a Tomb Guardian warband or are they really guarding the tomb?

Currently i have not planed to build a tomb guardian warband.

Those guardians are planned as real tomb guards.

Maybe i will catch the fever to also build a warband for them.

If i think about it, i bet that i build a warband sometime.
