Random picture thread

Aw, a little horsey, how cute [really]! Congratulations on the new addition to your family. Montana MORE than makes up for a paucity of Mordheimers with its sheer loveliness. You picked one Uber cool place to live.

Let's see if this works. Turns out I don't have that many photos of home in a digital format - I have more of Scotland than I do of Australia. Found a couple of photos though so I'll try and post them here.
First off is a photo of a Kookaburra - it's basically a giant Kingfisher native to Australia. They have a tendancy to 'laugh' very loudly and usually early in the morning.

The 2nd photo is one of my top 3 favourite castles in Scotland. Eilean Donan. Apparently it is one of the most photgraphed castles in Scotland, and avid movie buffs may recognise it from Highlander.

Yea, freaking beautiful castle.

I love Eilean Donan Castle, too. Especially that it got the medieval flavour when it was rebuild, and not all the renaissance crap that's messing up most castles which do look good from outside.

We've got HUNDREDS of them in Congress alone, AND when you add in the State Legislatures the NUMBERS ARE STAGGERING!

Yeah, when I was walking to Santiago along the northern coast, I found some hermit crabs living in colourful snail-shells during low tide:) If I don't forget, I'll post a pic (even though they were really small).
The best part was that there were some crabs who didn't have a shell yet and a friend and I were wondering for ages what those little thingies were until the thought struck us that they look pretty similar to the ones in the shells...

I thought this was pretty funny.

AW, I LOVE Bats; they have the loviest, softest fur. I developed this fondness in my boyhood. The little critters were attracted to the solarium screens of my Gandparents Summer home, AND were quite grateful to be removed from them. Unfortunately my Grandma did NOT share my feeling.
