| Looks like a Retro Ork...goes well with your Eldar. Some of the Rogue Trader period Orks had that feel to them. I like the yellowed fangs/teeth effect. Are you going to keep the glossy finish or hit it up with a matte spray? Keep up the GOOD WORK, Amigo! | |

| Hi Paluke First of all i'd like to know how much experience you've had painting before, and particulary experience of painting orks. Are you going for an evil suns/speed freak army? Was just thinking of the red theme. Anyway, some fast tips: I'd use black primer over white on orks. I think it works better with the general colors used on them. Have you used any washes/inks on this mini (or other), they work wonders. Drybrush ork skin from a darker green to the light shade you wish. A nice ork boy it is anyway. keep it up | |

| Thanks Deaf and Imbued! @ Deaf, don't know if i;m going for a matt finish.. the glossy one from the army painter has a nice vintage look and may be better for this paintstyle but i will consider it, thanks @imbued84 i'm going for an infantry horde (mostly) therefor i had to make a choice. i chose a simple painting scheme and with using white the skin gets a better shading (imo). I didn't aim for anything else than tabletop quality because i will be needing something like 120 models for a standard 1500 pnt army (if not more!) and yes i have a lot of experience, my recent paintjobs before this you can see here | |

There's nothing wrong with doing the minis with a gloss finish. It gives them a toy soldier like feel, which is rather charming; AND a gloss finish is MUCH more durable for gaming pieces. The deciding factor is whether YOU like them that way...you are, afterall, the ONLY one whose opinion matters on this subject. | |
